“Flurry” of antisemitic incidents in South Africa cause concern among communal leaders

The South African Jewish Board of Deputies has expressed its concern after a “flurry” of antisemitic incidents in the past days.

In one incident, a group of passengers waiting for their luggage from an El Al flight were called “wicked Jews” by a passer by who said “You people are wicked. Jews are wicked people, very wicked people”.

A mural with the German flag centred around a Swastika also appeared in Johannesburg.

SAJBD Chairman Shaun Zagnoev has also commented on a series of particularly virulent instances of online antisemitic abuse, saying: “The posts show how easily radical anti-Israel sentiment can spill over into hateful slurs and threats against Jewish people in general. We are being told that we are ‘scum’, ‘rats’, ‘bastards’, ‘pigs’, ‘swine’ and ‘fat-nosed f***ks. We are further being warned that “our time is coming” and that “the Holocaust will be a picnic after we are done with you””.

Zagnoev believes that the incidents are linked to a flare-up of tensions in South Africa surrounding Israel, after popular DJ Black Coffee was attacked by BDS for performing in Israel, leading supermodel Shashi Naidoo  to retaliate against BDS by branding Gaza a “sh*thole”, for which she received death threats before apologising.

Roger Walters again compares Israel to Nazi Germany, suggesting there may not be “harsher” regime in the world

Roger Walters, former front-man of Pink Floyd compared Israel to Nazi Germany in an hour-long live interview on Facebook. In the interview, hosted by Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement leader Omar Barghouti, he stated that there were no harsher regimes in the world. The musician went on to say that there was no point in having dialogue with Israelis and Israeli artists, and that Israel was headed towards being a “Pariah state.”

Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany is antisemitic according to the Definition of Antisemitism, and such comparisons are usually invoked to give a hyperbolic account of the conflict and to deliberately upset Jews.

Waters admitted that when thinking about the situation in Israel he finds it, “hard not to go back to Goebbels,” the Nazi propaganda minister. Whilst we are not an organisation that engages in Israel advocacy, the sheer hyperbole of his comparison is such that it can scarcely be an honest mistake. Not only did the Nazi regime which Goebbels propagandise for, through a state-governed press, facilitate the mass extermination of Jews and other victimised groups, but Israel itself has a free press and a thriving democracy. As mentioned above, such comparisons often come across as being deliberately calculated to hurt and offend Jews. Waters went on to state that “[Israel’s] tactic is to tell the big lie as often as possible over and over and over again”, painting Israel as manipulative and dissembling, utilising a long-standing antisemitic canard.

Yet Walters’ comparison has yet another antisemitic undertone, as he says that this alleged propaganda had led to Americans “living in this constant state of Hasbara created by AIPAC and the Israeli lobby”. Not only is he accusing Israel of operating Nazi-like propaganda, but referring to the “Israeli lobby” leading to a “constant state of Hasbara” is unequivocally the language of contemporary antisemitic conspiracy theories, attributing to the Zionist movement an unrealistic amount of control. According to the definition of antisemitism, “using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g. claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterise Israel or Israelis” is antisemitic. Some of the most established examples of classic antisemitism are canards involving Jews controlling the media or “controlling” non-Jews.

The former Pink Floyd member has become one of the most prominent voices over the past decade in the movement to boycott Israel, and his comparisons are by no means new. In 2013 for example, Waters once again compared Israel and its Rabbinate to the Nazis, purporting that in [Israelite] eyes, non-Jews are “sub-human” and that the, “parallels with what went on in 30’s in Germany are…crushingly obvious.” Yet his antIsemitic tendencies have gone beyond words: once again in 2013 Waters dressed as a Nazi in one of his concerts; kitted with a slick leather jacket, red arm-band, and an MP40 Schmeisser– the iconic Nazi machine gun. As if the message wasn’t clear enough, the audience found itself orbited by a balloon in the shape of a pig and stamped with a Star-of-David. A clear testament to Waters’ rhetorical genius: why be covert, when you can be overt?

In a stint of greater irony, when asked about other regimes, Waters noted that he was “very concerned about Ukraine,” but rushed to add that he did not want to “demonize the Russians”. One can only wonder why he expressed no similar concerns about demonizing eight and a half million citizens of Israel. He ponders that he is “not sure there are any much harsher regimes around the world, actually, if you look at it”, somehow ignoring the widespread oppression that occurs even in the rest of the Middle East, let alone in North Korea. It is hard to imagine how such a wild distortion could not be motivated by malice. According to the Definition of Antisemitism, “applying double standards by requiring of Israel a behaviour not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation” is antisemitic.

Google suggests a Holocaust denier as the first search result for “Holocaust historian”

Jewish journalist Josh Nathan-Kazis, who writes for the Forward, has tweeted that Google’s top search result when searching for “Holocaust historian” comes up as notorious Holocaust denier David Irving.

We corroborated the report, and found that Irving appears first, ahead of figures such as Raul Hilberg and Deborah Lipstadt.

David Irving, as well as being a Holocaust denier, reportedly claimed that British Jews were “not British”. He is an active speaker in neo-Nazi circles and has previously been jailed for Holocaust denial in Austria.

Last year we reported on the extreme prominence of Holocaust denial material on Amazon, which despite pressure from the public still seems to persist.

Facebook says page accusing “occult Jews” of “sacrificing Christian children” doesn’t violate its community standards

Facebook has refused to remove a page which propagates the most incendiary and unabashed blood libel, claiming that the content does not violate its community standards.

The page is called “Jewish ritual murder” and has as its secondary title “truthaboutjews”

Blood libel is the scurrilous accusation that Jews murder Christian children to bake matzo. It originated in Christian Europe and was historically used to incite violence against Jewish communities, frequently leading to large scale pogroms, individual murders, expulsions, rapes and torture. It is closely linked to similar accusation that Jews poisoned wells. Today there are many equivalents of blood libel, such as the accusation that Israel Jews engage in organ harvesting. As well as this, blood libel has taken a hold in the Muslim world, and similar accusations are made by both the far left and the far right.

Among the accusations on the page is that Andrei Kievski and various other Christian figures were “killed by occult Jews”. It also says that Jews are to be collectively held responsible for various biblical events.

They also reproduced a 1932 article from Der Stürmer, the Nazi tabloid newspaper produced by Julius Streicher, who became a central figure in the Nazi party. The article purports to be a history of “Jewish ritual murders”, and it includes accusations that children were “tortured to death” by Jews. The fact that Facebook found that a page that is quite literally sharing Nazi propaganda, which was instrumental in creating the atmosphere of rampant antisemitism that eventually led to the Holocaust, is deeply concerning.

One of the comments reads “shame on Jews”. The page has clearly been proactive in deleting many comments from its followers, and appears to run a policy of doing so, as having the page deleted for bigoted comments is “what they want to accomplish”.

The page, of course, also attacked Israel, writing that their page is under threat as attacking antisemitic pages “is source of great money as so called jewish state finance whole machinery of internet trolls recruited among jewish students”. This is perhaps the clearest demonstration yet of how traditional antisemitism blends seamlessly into antisemitism disguised as criticism of Israel. The fact that Jewish students are singled out is particularly worrying, as Jewish students at various Universities, including at SOAS in London, have been accused of being agents of the Israeli state, a vicious accusation which is used to bait and harass Jewish students under the guise of attacking what is perceived to be an Israeli policy.

There are quite literally of dozens of posts containing blood libel, none of which Facebook upon inspection thought violated its community standards. This is not the first time Facebook has failed to enforce its own rules; last year it decided that calling to “gas this shrivelled up Jewish piece of shit” did not violate its rules. Facebook must start enforcing its rules to prevent Nazi propaganda and incitement to violence from being allowed to flourish on its platform.

In the meantime, please take the time to report the page, which can be found here.

People tweet “light that Jew on fire” at Trump inauguration Rabbi, call Trump a “puppet for the Jews”

Rabbi Marvin Hier made history at Trump’s inauguration by becoming the first Orthodox Rabbi to speak at a President’s inauguration.

Rabbi Hier has met with various Presidents, and is the founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, an organisation named after the famous Nazi hunter, and which fights against antisemitism, terrorism and racism, as well helping to educate about the Holocaust.

The fact that Rabbi Hier was asked to speak at Trump’s inauguration, after a divisive campaign which caused many Jewish leaders to express concern, could be seen as a sincere positive step from the Trump camp. Unfortunately, his appearance was marred by torrents of antisemitic abuse.

Some tweets include the following:

“Why is there a Jew on my screen”

“He escaped from the camp! Gas him before its too late”

“someone light that Jew on fire”

“MY EARS ARE BEING RAPED BY JEW INCANTATIONS OMG PUSH THIS RABBI WITCH OFF THE STAGE”

“What the hell is some Jew rabbi doing at the inauguration? They are the enemies of America !”

“not down with that false pig religion of the devil”

“Guys, the Jew put a spell on us!”

“The Jew disappeared soon after his speech. Holding human form takes a lot of energy” – this tweet, which suggests Jews are not really human, but also plays on conspiracy theories about Jews (who are often referred to in more obscure conspiracy theories as “shapeshifters”) controlling the world.

“crazy how they let a Jew speak after their attacks on 9/11”

“Trump is just a puppet for the Jews”

“bruh this is why we need Hitler. who the fuck let the jew out the chamber”

“DON THERES A FUCKIN JEW ON THE SAGE KILL IT”

In the photo displayed above, someone photoshopped an antisemitic caricature of a Jew, and wrote that they were “wearing my ‘they live’ glasses”. They live is a film in which special glasses make the protagonist able to see the propaganda behind everyday advertising and media. However, the creator of the film has recently disavowed its popularity with neo-Nazis, insisting that the film is about consumer capitalism and has nothing to do with antisemitism.

Some in the Jewish community criticised Rabbi Hier for appearing at Trump’s inauguration, as many believe the President employed antisemitic tropes during his campaign. However, it is extremely worrying to see such vitriol being directed towards a Rabbi who was chosen to speak by the President. If these people are Trump supporters, it indicates that some of Trump supporters do not merely engage in antisemitic discourse, but will refuse to accept a Jewish person even when they have some form of personal endorsement from the candidate they support. However, of the hundreds of tweets that Rabbi Hier received, though they tended to have the general character of far right antisemitism, that some would have come from opponents of Trump.

PewDiePie pays two men who unveil “Death to all Jews” sign live on his YouTube channel

PewDiePie, the Swedish YouTube Celebrity who is the personality behind the most subscribed-to channel on the entire site, paid two men who revealed a “Death to all Jews” sign for him in a video.

In the bizarre video, he stated that he would delete his account when he reaches 50 million subscribers. At the time, he had 49 million.

He was reviewing the website Fiverr, which you can pay someone to reveal a message of one’s choice, though it seems as if he didn’t know that this particular message would be unveiled.

He has since apologised, saying “I don’t feel too proud of this, I’m not going to lie. I’m not anti-Semitic or whatever it’s called. It was a funny meme, and I didn’t think it would work… I swear, I love Jews. I love them”, and the two men in the Fiverr video have also apologised.

This does appear to be a very poor attempt at a joke gone wrong, although the explanation could of course be more sinister. However, the mere fact that PewDiePie has so many millions of subscribers, most of whom are young, and many of whom will be or will have been exposed to antisemitic ideas, particularly in anti-Israel discourse, seeing something like this on the channel of a prominent cultural influencer could have the unfortunate effect of normalising antisemitism. Despite this, his apology is to be welcomed.

Besiktas fans tweet “Burn the Jews” and other antisemitic abuse in match against Hapoel Beersheba

Fans of the Istanbul-based Turkish football club have tweeted large amounts of antisemitic abuse following their European qualifying match against Hapoel Beersheba.

Avlaremoz documented some of the tweets, which included:

“We will write ‘champion Besiktas’ on Jewish sperm.”‎

“We drew Jewish sons of bitches. If we do not score 5 goals, we are not men. ‎Jewish bastards.”‎

“You will say ‘Mr. Besiktas who f—s Jews.'”‎

‎”We want Jewish asses.”‎

“Do not return without raping the Jewish bastards. Wish you success, Besiktas.”‎

‎”Hey Israel, we are coming to f— your mothers!”‎

‎”We drew Hapoel. There will be +18 Jewish porn. Nice lots.”‎

‎”Get ready for World War IV. My Besiktas will play against the Jewish bastard ‎Israeli team. There will be a bloodbath. Hapoel [Beer]Sheba.”‎

‎”Come on, Jewish bastards. Let us vomit our hatred on you.”‎

“Are you ready, Besiktas? This time you will walk up to the Jew.”‎

‎”Let’s go to Israel and burn Jews for the love of Besiktas.”‎

One referred to a Hadith of Jews hiding behind trees, tweeting “So we will Fuck the Jewish sperm behind gharqad trees one by one?”.

Earlier this week we covered similar antisemitic tweets originating in Turkey, following political unrest surrounding the assassination of the Russian ambassador, and last month a Turkish Jewish writer was murdered in the street with a police investigation still in progress, which is yet to rule out antisemitism as a motive.

Turkish twitter users blame “Zionism” and “lowlife agent of the Jewish lobby” for assassination

Following the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey,  many Turks have taken to Twitter to blame the attack on Zionists and Jews.

Avlaremoz, a Turkish publication which deals extensively with Jewish issues, documented several tweets, some of which included:

“The real enemy of all the Muslims and all of the oppressed in the world is Zionism and the cursed Israel. Behind the assassination is the Jewish lobby and the USA”

“The assassin is a lowlife agent of the Jewish lobby”

“The Jew does not want Turkish-Russian rapprochement. By inciting Islamophobia, their pawn in Turkey is also involved in the game. Whoever will benefit from this should be the perpetrator. (Dograel – a distorted form referring to the word Israel.)”

“This looks like Jewish work. Simple and effective”

“The assassin has the typical Jewish look. I don’t know if it’s just me but he is a real Jew”

After the attack, protesters invaded the HQ of the People’s Democratic Party, which is pro-Kurdish in its stance, climbing to the top of the building and starting fires, yet many took to Twitter to blame Jews for the further unrest:

“If you were not treacherous, if you were not kafir, if you did not have Jewish roots, you would not attack unarmed soldiers. Victory will be ours, hell will be yours.”

“As you have cowardly asses, you were not able to confront our soldiers and you carried out a treacherous bomb explosion, you Jewish bastards. You will not make it. Revenge will be ours, remember that.”

“Hey you, cowardly Jew, whose humanity is only as much as his money. As you and your dogs burn in hell, those who you have made martyrs will be in heaven.”

“Obviously, we will not have peace unless there are explosions in Iran, England and in the Jewish lands.”

“Cowardly, undignified ones with no honor. You do not have the courage to stand up to a single soldier of ours. Satans. Armenian, Jewish sperms. You will all be croaked.”

“We do not want death penalty for them. We want torture for them. Let them all pay for what they have done, Jewish dogs.”

“Vile, ignoble, Armenian, Jewish, dogs of Hitler. They attacked our soldiers again dastardly. May Allah curse you. The pigs of the EU, USA and Israel.”

“You will not make it, ignoble servants of Jews. This system will change and this country and this nation will get rid of you. Get out and take your owners with you.”

“You Godless ones, those without a holy book, you Armenian, Jewish, Persian, kafir underbred ones. Cursed sperms of rats. Enough is enough.”

Such tweets are illustrative of how even when an event occurs which involves no Jews, to which there is no logical or reasonable connection to Jews, Israel or Judaism, and for which there is no evidence, even circumstantial, that Jews have been involved, that Jews will nonetheless become a scapegoat.

‘Anonymous’ collective promotes conspiracies about Jewish ‘control’ of banks and the ‘synagogue of Satan’

Anonymous, the ‘hacktivist’ collective, has shared a number of anti-Semitic articles online this month, including accusing Ashkenazi Jews of being ‘Satanic’ and conspiracies about global financial and political institutions by a network of wealthy Jews.

The Facebook page of the group, whose supporters are known for wearing Guy Fawkes masks, shared an article, ‘The History of the House of Rothschild’ (15 December), claiming that the Rothschild family has ‘been in control of the world for a very long time, their tentacles reaching into many aspects of our daily lives’. The article goes on to allege that ‘the leader of the Ashkenazi Jews in the world today is the Rothschild family’, repeating the racist claim that Ashkenazi Jews (those of European descent) are not ‘real’ Jews and lie about their identity:

“You will find that approximately 90% of people in the world today who call themselves Jews are actually Khazars, or as they like to be known, Ashkenazi Jews.“

The “Khazarian hypothesis” has been repeatedly debunked by genetic studies, and is a common tool used by antisemites to attempt to deny Jewish people their collective identity as a united people. Its inclusion here clearly demonstrates that whilst the authors may focus largely on one Jewish family, this in fact constitutes an attack on the Jewish people as a whole.

The article also refers to ‘so-called persecution of the Jews’ and even makes the bizarre claim that the following verse from the Book of Revelations was written about Ashkenazi Jews:

“I know thy works, and tribulation and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.”

A few days later (18 December), Anonymous’ Facebook page shared an article entitled ‘Complete list of all Rothschild owned and controlled banks’, promoting conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family being the ‘most powerful bloodline on Earth’ which ‘controls everything’, including a list of over 160 banks. The article also accuses the Rothschilds of being ‘behind all wars since Napoleon’:

“So, the world is still at war because it is very, very profitable to the Rothschilds and their parasite bankster bloodlines.’

“The House of Rothschild is really at the top of the pyramid of power. They are behind the New World Order and the complete domination of the world agenda. They are behind the European Union and the Euro and they are behind the idea of a North American Union and the Amero. They are controlling all of the world’s secret services and their private army is NATO.”

Reference to the Rothschild family is a common form of ‘dog whistle’ anti-Semitism, invoking age-old myths about Jewish global domination of the political and financial systems through the use of coded language. More recently, it has been recycled by some left-wing activists, ranging from 9-11 ‘truthers’ and the Occupy movement, to the British Green Party.

French Embassy reinstates “Hitler didn’t finish the job” employee

The French embassy in Tunisia has allowed a worker to resume their duties after antisemitic comments were posted on their Facebook page.

Selim Dakhlaoui was suspended in August after comments surfaced that had been made in his name.

These comments included “Hitler didn’t finish the job”, said in the context of a discussion about Israel. He also allegedly posted “Soon it will be the end of Israel” with a missile emoji and “Go to hell, Israel”.

He later claimed that his account had been compromised. The JTA has just revealed that he was reinstated after an investigation.

Online antisemitism is absolutely rampant, and Dakhlaoui’s claim that his account has been compromised will seem like a get out of jail free card to Jewish communities in France, and the tiny number left in Tunisia, who are unlikely to be convinced by such a defence.

The CRIF, which represents Jewish communities in France, commented on the initial allegations: “This is a hateful comment, just like the ones we see too often on social media…except this one was authored by an employee of the embassy of France in Tunisia. We anxiously await their reaction!”

We cannot help but think that many Jewish communities will be saddened and disappointed, albeit not necessarily surprised by such a reaction. Employers and states must start to find ways to deal with online antisemitism of this sort, as unless they do so, almost anyone will be able to avoid disciplinary action simply by denying authorship of a post on their own account.

Facebook says “gas this shriveled up Jewish piece shit” doesn’t violate its Community Standards

Facebook has refused to remove a comment from an Alt Right page which called for George Soros to be gassed.

The comment on a page called Disdain for Plebs, which though right wing, is not itself an antisemitic page, reads:

“Gas this shriveled up Jewish piece of shit. If he really misses Uncle Adolf, he would love getting shoved in an oven, and later made into soap”.

85 people (so far) liked the comment.

When the comment was reported, Facebook said that it did not violate its community standards. The comment was made by a man called “John Holloway”, but we know nothing about the individual minus his name.

Soros, who is Jewish, is a controversial figure in the Jewish community for his support of pro-Palestinian causes. Nonetheless, calling for a Jew to be gassed in blatant reference to the Holocaust is antisemitic.

Female student subjected to antisemitic abuse after turning down advances of non-Jewish man

A female student, who is in the process of converting to Judaism, at the Community College of Philadelphia has submitted a complaint to Drexel University after being subjected to antisemitic abuse by someone thought to be one of their students.

The student’s online dating profile stated that she ideally “would prefer a Jewish partner”.

After she rejected his advances, he expressed his displeasure that she would prefer to have a Jewish partner, saying “not my fault I’m not Jewish”.

Naturally, the exchange should have ended there, but she was shortly after contacted by another profile, which was fake.

She strongly suspects that the same person was behind this new profile, which was made under the username “ImWantJewNeed”.

The profile’s summary included “I’m a nice Jew guy looking for ladies that want to see my draddle” (s.i.c), “living my life as if I was the only Jew alive”, and listed its favourite media as “how to be a Jew 101 and ijewradio” and under the “you should message me if” section wrote “your (s.i.c) looking for a practicing Jew”, a clear reference to the earlier exchange.

She was contacted by the profile, when he made references to money and generally entirely focused on her Jewish identity.

Though she took the unwelcome conversation with good humour, even asking him “how was your Shabbos?”,  harassing a Jewish (or a soon-to-be Jewish) woman online because she doesn’t want to go out with you, and fixating on her Jewish identity, is clearly antisemitic. It is also worrying that this individual is apparently unwilling to accept a woman’s right to say no to his advances.

The student has reported the incident to the boy’s university, who appear to be taking the incident seriously. We will be advising her as the complaint is taken forward.

Conspiracy theorist calls Angelina Jolie “Zio-Mafia Witch”, says Jews want to “enslave the goyim”

A Facebook user has posted a disturbing antisemitic rant in which he accuses celebrity Angelina Jolie of being a “Zio-Mafia Witch”.

In an All Caps tirade, Philip E Taylor wrote that a “Rothschilds/AIPAC Zio-Mafia fake wars to create refugees”.

He accuses Jews of using Hollywood to “create the idols then their United Nations to uses them to sell bull shit to destroy Europe and America”.

He also says that “Jews keep themselves separate as a psychopathic state of mass murders and apartheid” continuing that Jews want to divide the rest of the world with “civil wars” and “mixed propagandized races to destroy non-Jews and enslave the goyim”.

Whilst the general content is an exaggerated, yet essentially familiar form of antisemitic conspiracy theory, it is worth noting that the refence to “mixed propagandized races” indicates that this is someone espousing far right views. In White Nationalist circles, the claim that Jews promote “race mixing”, as they often put it, is a common one, and Zionism is set against an alleged Jewish attempt to dilute other forms of Nationalism and national identity.

So far, over 80 people have reacted to the post.

His Facebook is littered with similar posts, such as blaming Jews for upheaval in Libya, and, of course, blaming “Jewish neo-cons” for creating ISIS.

Trump supporters send death threats to Jewish journalists

Although Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has publicly stated that he has no ties to antisemitic hate groups, that has not stopped Trump’s antisemitic               supporters – neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the alt-right – from making death threats against the press.

Jewish journalists have discovered that for some Trump supporters, demonstrating loyalty to their “Glorious Leader”, the extreme right’s nickname for Trump, has threatened their sense of personal safety.

Jewish Russian-born journalist, Julia Ioffe, infuriated Trump supporters when she wrote an article for the magazine, GQ, that was critical of Trump’s wife, Melania. As a result, Ioffe, filed a report with the Washington D.C. police over  threats “to kidnap or injure a person”.

Flooded with death threats and prank calls, Ioffe, even received a prank call that played a recording of Hitler’s speeches. Another caller said “her face would look good on a lampshade”. Ironically, Ioffe’s family fled Russia because of antisemitism.

Reporter Bethany Mandel, a convert to Judaism, who has an active presence on Twitter, wrote in an article for the Jewish newspaper, the Forward, that after making anti-Trump tweets, she was a victim of “terrifying and profound antisemitism”. But it was receiving actual death threats in her private Facebook mailbox that motivated Mandel, a resident of New Jersey, to file a report with the New Jersey police.

Ultimately, Mandel, who was called a “slimy Jewess” and told that she “deserved the oven”, felt so threatened that she even applied for a gun permit.

Former Breitbart writer, Ben Shapiro, who is an Orthodox Jew, also felt the need to purchase a weapon after being hit “with a number of death threats”. Shapiro told writer Bethany Mandel that “there are an outsized set of Trump supporters who will threaten your safety”. The fact that Jews feel so threatened by supporters of the Trump campaign that they feel like they must own weapons for their own safety indicates just how dire the situation is becoming, with rising far-right activity clearly denting citizen’s faith that the police can protect them.

Shapiro, who is the recipient of hate tweets from David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the Klu Klux Klan, left the conservative website, Breitbart, because he was unable to support their pro-Trump editorial stance.

And yet, according to Jewish writer, Bradley Burston, a reporter for the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, it’s just not Trump’s supporters who are dangerous. Trump harms democracy because he “enables and tolerates and excuses and pumps it [antisemitism]”.

Andrew Anglin, the editor of the alt-right (alternative right) white nationalism website, The Daily Stormer, told the Los Angeles Times that “virtually every alt-Nazi I know is volunteering for the Trump campaign”.

Peter Montgomery, who tracks far right groups at People For The American Way, an advocacy group, believes that the extreme right’s involvement in politics will have “damaging, long-term consequences” for America. This fact would not surprise Burston, who criticized Trump for giving “a podium to bigots, an arena stage to hatred”.

Palestine activist implies another Holocaust is coming, spouts blood libel

Mamal Tamimi, a member of the Palestinian  Tamimi family renown for their anti -Israel protests is shown to use social media to express highly inflammatory  anti-semitic messages and images in an article from Israellycool dated 16th September 2016.

“Much has already been written about her support for terror against Israel. But what is perhaps less known is that she is an out-and-out Jew hater”, states Aussie Dave.

His article contains examples of Mamal Tamimi’s postings which demonise Israelis, are wholly offensive against Jews in the context of the Holocaust,  describing Zionists as “zionazis”; contains highly defamatory age-old anti-semitic prejudices  including blood libel and child killings. She is also shown to express denial of Jewish identity against Ashkenazi Jews; and espouses false claims which deny Jewish heritage to Israel and specifically to Temple Mount, and advocates killing Zionists.

One image she shared of the Grand Mufti and Hitler said, regarding the former’s support for the Holocaust, that Netanyahu should “b carful”, implying that another Holocaust is going to happen. She also shared an image which claimed that the “real Holocaust” was happening in Palestine; such a claim borders on Holocaust denial, as the sheer difference in deaths in the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Holocaust, and the fact that the Arab-Israeli conflict has been an armed conflict in which Israel has frequently been called upon to defend itself means that no meaningful comparison can be drawn between them.

Another image she shared was a cartoon of a Nazi beating a creature with a whip. The creature was depicted wearing a kippah, with peyot and with stereotypical “Jewish” features.

She has also shared an image purporting to show a quote from Menechem Begin in which he describes the Jews as the “master race”. Claims that Jews believe they are superior to other have been a common theme in antisemitism throughout the ages, yet are used almost entirely to incite hatred against Jewish people and their beliefs.

One picture she shared shows Haredi Jews searching through large dustbins. She captions it “Zionists searching for their history in Palestine”, clearly showing that when she speaks of “Zionists”, she is really just speaking about Jews.

She has written of “vampire Zionists…drinking Palestinian bloods” – a shameless rehashing of age-old blood libel.

Aussie Dave reports that the Tamimi family include teenager Shirley Temper , whose real name is Ahed Tamimi , renown for her anti-Israeli online videos. He claims that Mamal Tamimi is also involved in the Tamimi Press, which he describes as an anti-Israeli propaganda outlet owned by Ahed Tamimi’s father Bassem Tamimi, and  supported by some sections of the mainstream media, and smaller media like AMZ Productions of Oregon. This content demonstrates how easily anti-Zionist rhetoric can feed into pure, unadulterated antisemitism.

Trump supporters blame Jews for perceived debate failure

‘Alt-right’ supporters of Donald Trump have blamed Jews for his perceived lacklustre performance in the Presidential Debate yesterday.

Alt-right supporters of the candidate held a live YouTube stream of the debate, which unsurprisingly featured many antisemitic comments.

Comments included “CUT ALL TAXES…JEWS ALREADY CAN PRINT ALL THE MONEY THEY WANT” and “ALL THESE DEBATES ARE RIGGED…fucking judu”.

One suggested that the moderator of the debate had been somehow controlled by Jewish influence, writing “Anderson cooper eats jew dick”. Trump stated at several times that he believed the debate moderation to be unfair.

Another wrote “Greatest Kike Pussy Grabber of All Time”

The live stream was organised by the publisher of the Daily Stormer, an overtly racist and nationalist publication. Followers of the website often refer to Trump as their “glorious leader”, often complaining that there is a Jewish conspiracy to undermine him. He has previously written of a “Jewish problem” and admitted that white nationalism is central to the alt right movement.

Labour activist says “the Jews ran slavery”, rants at news reporter

Self-described “Labour activist” Kevine Walcott has subjected a Channel 4 interviewer and the Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust to a tirade on Twitter, claiming that Jews should apologise for the slave trade.

The incident took place as Channel 4’s Cathy Newman interviewed disgraced Corbyn ally Jackie Walker over remarks she had made about Jews and the Holocaust, including that Jews were the “chief financiers” of the slave trade, a proposition described by the Legacies of British Slave Ownership project at University College, London as based on “no evidence whatsoever.”

Walcott assumed that Newman was Jewish and demanded in tweets that Newman personally apologise for the slave trade, writing: “you and jewish community has never apologise for your well documented role in the slave trade and its the greatest holocaust [all sic]”.

Walcott followed up with an unsolicited tweet to the Chief Executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, Karen Pollock, calling her a “slave trade denyer [sic]” and “the greatest racist in world” and demanding that she “apologise for the slave trade”.

Various Twitter users said that they would be reporting Walcott to the Labour Party, however the Party now keeps the outcome of its disciplinary process secret, so it is unlikely that we will find out whether Walcott in fact suffers any consequences for her comments.

According to the definition of antisemitism, “accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews” is antisemitic.

Anti-Israel Church exhibit attracts virulent antisemitism

The Hinde Street Methodist Church, which is located in central London, received strong condemnation from the local Jewish community for re-creating an Israeli checkpoint in their chapel for a five day exhibit that was entitled, “You cannot pass today: Life through a dividing wall”.

Organized by church lay preacher, Katharine Fox, the exhibit is a part of the World Week For Peace in Palestine and Israel that was held from September 19-23. The display was set up to show how the checkpoints negatively impact the lives of Palestinians. Photographs and personal accounts of the Palestinians were included in the exhibit.

The exhibit has stirred antisemitic sentiments, both at the exhibit itself and online. One comment in the guest book reads “IDF soldiers are the scum of the earth! They are disgusting filthy animals and need to be burned alive”. Dehumanising Jews and calling for them to be burned alive is antisemitic, regardless of any political differences one may have with them.

On the Facebook page for the exhibit, antisemitism ran wild. One commenter writes “They are called …”Jews with a conscience” as opposed to the murderous thugs you are defending! You guys make Hitler look lie a saint by comparison!”. Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany is defined as antisemitic in the EUMC definition of antisemitism.

Another writes “Isrealhell kills children. The Zionist owned media rarely shows us. Thank you Hinde St Methodist Church. I hope more churches follow your lead!”. Accusing Israel plainly of killing children, with no qualification, amounts to blood libel. Similarly, speaking of a “Zionist owned media” plays into antisemitic canards of Jewish control over the media.

Other comments attempted to make out Zionists to be “not true Jews”, claiming to one man who said he was embarrassed to be a Methodist that “It sounds like your friends are Zionists, and not true Jews”, linking to a video of Neturei Karta, who make up a tiny minority of Jews worldwide. Manipulating debate to make only those Jews who agree with one’s position out to be the “true Jews” is antisemitic, as it is an attempt to silence dissent from Jews and brand some “good” or “true” and others as ‘false’ or somehow ‘bad’.

One commenter accused a critic of the exhibition of supporting “illegal organ harvesting, genocide, infanticide, holocaust”, claims which also amount to a modern day blood libel.

Yet another ranted “Zionism is simply a Mafia outfit. They hide behind the good name of judaism, the word anti semitic though they are not semitic people. Zionism and israel are the same as the Mafia and Italy. Bullies, tyrant, criminals, thieves, murderers, rapists and sadists but of the very worst type that humanity has ever witnessed. To pledge allegiance to such an evil entity is to spit in the face of every poor innocent jew who died in the holocaust and every poor little arab child who died as a result of such evil peoples actions”. Firstly, using the term “Mafia outfit” makes Zionism sound like a sinister, underground conspiracy, and thus appears to be playing on antisemitic conspiracy theories. Claiming that Zionists are “not semitic people” also attempts to deny Jewish Zioists of their identity. Finally, claiming that it is an insult to the victims of the Holocaust to become a Zionist is an outrageous comment not least for the fact that many Jews would have been justified in believing there could be no future for Jews in Europe after such an event. If anything, the Holocaust demonstrated to many Jews the need for Jews to live freely in an independent state, where they would not be subject to the whims and at the mercy of the ruling population. He later commented “Who are the Jews? Certainly not related to the israelites and with any ancestral claim to that land. At least the Palestines were living there at the time they were evicted amongst the very worst genocide”, this despite the fact that all Jews share more in common with one another than they do with surrounding populations. Once again, such comments are a cynical attempt to deprive Jews of their history, identity and peoplehood. Similarly, one woman writes “look what the world actually means, what a semite actually is. Hint: It’s not Israelis”. She also accused Israel of creating ISIS: “true, I agree with you, Helen. ISIS has nothing to do with Muslim faith and everything to do with your illegal state’s creation”.

Mike Isaacs posted on The Times website, “Perhaps the Methodist church could also have an exhibition of body parts of Jews blown apart by Palestinian terrorists, or failing that, a photo gallery of those knifed in their beds, or rammed at bus stops.”

Rabbi Barry Marcus, of the Central Synagogue told The Times, “Why the hell is a church wasting its resources on fanning the flames of antisemitism?” As put forth by the European Monitoring Centre, a key element of antisemitism is holding Israel to a different standard than other countries.

The display at the Hinde Street Method Church did not shine a spotlight on checkpoints at the borders of France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Hungary or Turkey.

The London Jewish community expressed outrage that a Methodist church would challenge Israel’s right to provide security measures that protect its citizens from being murdered by Palestinian terrorists. Peter Rogol posted on The Times website, “They don’t want [Israeli citizens] to be blown up on their buses, hence the security arrangements.”

After talks with The Board of Deputies of British Jews, the church gave the Zionist Federation permission to pass out booklets which justify Israel’s right to self-defense.

Whilst the potentially one-sided presentation of the exhibit is not antisemitic, and criticism of the state of Israel similar to that levelled at other democratic states is also certainly legitimate, the way in which this exhibit has singled Israel out seems to have played into the hands of those anti-Zionists who routinely allow their rhetoric to slip into unadulterated antisemitism. It is thus indicative in the need for balance and sensitivity to other perspectives when discussing such issues.

All the comments can be viewed here, including many not mentioned in the article.

Facebook allows vile “How to pick up Jewish chicks” Holocaust meme

Facebook has drawn criticism for “enabling vicious Jew hatred” after failing to remove a disgusting post titled “how to pick up Jewish chicks”.

The post featured an image of a shovel and a pile of ashes, a reference to the systematic extermination of the European Jewry during the Holocaust, along with the line. Such ‘jokes’ normalise the Holocaust and turn the most traumatic point in Jewish history, and in the estimation of many the single lowest point in human history, into something to be consumer and laughed at on social media.

The post was ‘liked’ by over 21,000 people and had over 32,000 comments. It was also shared by many.

Despite Facebook claiming that it is committed to “removing hate speech” in its community standards, when the post was reported, Facebook allowed it.

Dvir Abramovich, chairman of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission called the image “disturbing” and said that “Facebook should not be a hot-house and a cesspool of racism, xenophobia and bigotry, and should not allow its platform to be used by bigots to disseminate and propagate their toxic and hateful invective”.

If the thousands of comments, many were reportedly antisemitic in nature.

We recently covered a story in which Facebook allowed a post that called explicitly for the genocide of Jews.

Labour refuses to discipline councillor who shared antisemitic video

Birmingham Councillor Zafar Iqbal Said apologised for sharing an antisemitic video produced by Klu Klux Klan leader, David Duke on his Facebook account;  reports Jonathan Walker in the online Birmingham Mail on 21 September 2016. Said is reported to have denied any acknowledgment of how the video got posted and shared on his Facebook page. Walker states that the video entitled “CNN , Goldman Sachs and the Zio Matrix”,  was accompanied by the posting; ..”this video reveals how the Zionist Matrix of Power controls Media, Politics and Banking” , which may have appeared automatically with the video posting.

The term “Zio” has caused much controversy, after having been branded as antisemitic following its routine use against Jewish students. Its use here in a video espousing a classical example of a “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”-type conspiracy theory, which is blatantly antisemitic in its suggestion of Jewish or “Zionist” control over banking, demonstrates unambigiously that the term is used to defame and humiliate Jews. According to the EUMC definition of antisemitism, it is antisemitic to use conspiracy theories previously targeted towards Jews and instead simply shift the blame onto Israel, or in this case “Zionism”.

Said was reportedly appointed Justice of Peace in Solihull Magistrates Court in 2007 and awarded  an MBE in 2008 for services to education and  the community. He  is quoted as saying there is no place for anti-semitism in Labour or society and that he will continue to work with groups in Birmingham of different faiths against racism and prejudice. The  article cites a West Midlands Labour spokesman who said Labour takes all allegations of antisemitism seriously and will investigate any such evidence and take relevant action.

However, the Jewish Chronicle has reported that no action will be taken by the Labour Party against Said. A spokesmen said:

“Councillor Iqbal has apologised, we accept his explanation of what happened and we have reminded him of his responsibilities as a Labour councillor.”

Corbynite “Momentum” activists targeted Jewish MP for deselection

Louise Ellman has called for “immediate action” after it was revealed that Momentum activists had specifically targeted the MP for deselection.

Momentum is a faction on the hard left of the party who were instrumental in Corbyn’s election.

Ellman, who is Jewish, has been critical of Corbyn’s treatment of the antisemitism scandal and has spoken on television on the issue frequently.

One activist wrote “Louise Ellman is ready for it to come up at every CLP and has that martyred/victim look on her face whenever it’s mentioned”, continuing “I think it’s suiting her, shoring up her strategy to displace the Left”. Accusing Jews of using antisemitism as a political strategy is inherently antisemitic, as it plays upon antisemitic canards of Jews manipulating politics, whilst simultaneously denying legitimacy to the Jewish experience of oppression.

Another said of Ellman’s view on Israel and Palestine that “it doesn’t require too much empathy to understand why a Jewish woman born in 1945 might have a major blind spot on this issue”.

Speaking to the Jewish Chronicle, Ellman said:

“The antisemitic remarks that have come to light in this report on Momentum in Liverpool Riverside CLP are disturbing – but sadly unsurprising given the nature of recent party meetings”

“In the past year the Israel-Palestine conflict has been raised at meetings with increasing regularity with the intention of stoking up divisions within the CLP. It is clear in this report that figures within Liverpool Momentum have an almost obsessive focus on the state of Israel.”

“Several party members, under investigation by Labour for their remarks at a recent CLP meeting, far from showing remorse for their appalling statements, have privately reinforced their views.”

“The Labour Party should have a zero-tolerance approach to such appalling behaviour.”

Newsweek Middle East Editor’s antisemitic Twitter rant

An Editor of Newsweek Middle East has gone on an antisemitic rant on Twitter after her channel screened a documentary about the Israel-Palestine conflict littered with factual inaccuracies.

Leila Hatoum, the channels deputy senior editor, took to Twitter to dismiss those who had questioned the documentary, calling the critics “Zionist trolls”.

She also said that Jews are not semites, denying Jewish people their history and historical ties to both their own religion and their ancestral homeland. She references the Khazarian hypothesis, the discredited idea that Ashkenazi Jews (whom she falsely describes as the majority of the Israeli Jewry) have no ancient near eastern ancestry, writing “Something u should know, eastern-european are originally khazar tribes which converted to judaism. They do NOT have an israelite blood” and “Most jews in israel are not semits. They are descendants of europe’s khazar tribes, mixed hybrids, Ary etc. Whose ancestors adopted Judaism”.

She also wrote “hitler’s mom was jewish. prostitute who gave him an STD was jewish, his gf was jewish &his dr was jewish”.

New York girl forced out of high school by antisemitic abuse

A Father in New York has described how his daughter was forced out of her school by antisemitic abuse, stemming from political disagreements.

Marco Greenberg says that his daughter faced abuse after saying that “Religion in the extreme can cause violence and war. Just look at radical Islam”.

One student allegedly replied to this statement by saying “I’m going to rearrange your face”.

However, many comments focused on the girl’s Jewish identity, with her receiving comments like You white privileged Jewish bitch”, “Zionism is racism”, and “we’re not your Arab slaves”.

Greenberg said that the school failed to take his daughter’s complaints seriously, claiming that the principal simply “admonished our daughter for being ‘very opinionated’ and refused to take any concrete action…meaning free ad hominem attacks or threats of physical assault”.

The situation escalated even when the girl tried to contextualise her remarks by pointing out that radical Islam targets peaceful Muslims more than non-Muslims. Eventually, she was forced to move school following the harassment.

Labour candidate dismisses community’s fear of antisemitism as a “witch hunt”

Noah Tucker, who is a prominent figure within the Haringey  branch of Momentum, has dismissed fears of antisemitism as a “witch hunt” in a Facebook group.

Momentum is a far left faction in the party which is closely linked to Corbyn.

In a July Facebook he condemned the series of suspensions of members for antisemitism and called for all the suspensions to be lifted.

His post claims that the antisemitism row has been the result of the right of the Labour Party trying to undermine Corbyn, as well as Zionist groups in Israel, in an attempt to “shut down” debate on the Middle East.

Rabbi David Mason commented on Tucker’s nomination “While enjoying a positive and growing relationship with our local Labour council and MP, many of my members would be worried about the sentiments supported here by Mr Tucker. One would hope that he would consider on election the views of the many Jewish constituents of Haringey and their worries regarding Momentum’s problematic view of Israel and the Jewish community”.

An Anonymous activity stated: “These views are becoming increasingly commonplace in Tottenham Labour Party. As the Chakrabati inquiry makes clear these views have no place in the party. The selection of this gentleman is deeply upsetting. It is giving legitimacy to hostility to the Jewish Community and gives it .the official stamp of the Labour Party”.

RT readers cheer that “k!kes are dead” after Tel Aviv building collapse

Russia Today’s coverage of a Tel Aviv building collapse provoked many antisemitic comments.

A building site had collapsed, killing two and injuring seventeen.

One of the comments said “surely the crane is anti-semitic”. Whilst such a comment may appear harmless, in reality it attempts to delegitimise the experience of antisemitism.

Comments such as “SQUASHED kosha spaghetti and pasta” and “With all the bad news in the world everyday, it’s nice to see something different, for a change” actively revelled in the death of Jews.

Comments such as “Lols, another Jewish builder trying to save a shekel or two on the materials” played on antisemitic canards.

Perhaps most shockingly, comments such as “Yay K!kes are DEAD !!! lol ZioTechnology just collapses ha ha ha” appeared.

Others said it was “another Holocaust” and “cause for celebration”, whilst one commenter mocked the Holocaust saying “6 trillion feared dead”. Another replied to the first comment “you mean Holohoax”.

The comments still remain up.

“Anti-Zionist” Facebook page blames Israel for ISIS, denies Holocaust

A Facebook page called “Israel is a war criminal” has posted antisemitic content.

The “anti-Zionist” page is fierce in its criticism of Israel, yet at certain points slips into outright antisemitism.

For example, it has blamed Israel for ISIS, an antisemitic conspiracy theory which is increasingly common. The post implies that Israel is using ISIS to attack Muslims, a claim which borders on blood libel.

In another post it suggests that Gaza is the “real Holocaust”. The effect of such a statement is essentially to deny the Holocaust, given that the number of casualties in the Arab-Israel conflict is infinitesimal compared to the number of Jews slaughtered in the Holocaust. It is also defined as antisemitic to compare Israel to Nazi Germany in such a way, according to the EUMC definition of antisemitism.

The comments are also extremely worrying. Many of them involve antisemitic images such as a shrouded figure marked with a Star of David holding the globe in bloodied hands, and a picture of a Haredi Jew with a Palestinian child being held by the neck in one hand and a menorah in the other.

They have also shared a post with the debunked claimed that Israel intentionally cut off water supply to Palestinian areas. Some commentators have seen this as a modern iteration of medieval blood libels.

Facebook allows “kill all Jews” post on wall of Canadian Professor

Facebook has ruled that an image calling explicitly for the genocide of all Jews is acceptable according to its community standard.

An image featuring a white man placing a Charedi Jew in a chokehold, accompanied by an antisemitic tract which incites genocide, was deemed acceptable when it was reported by B’nai Brith Canada.

B’nai Brith Canada reported the image, which was ruled acceptable within two hours, when it was alerted to it having been posted on the Facebook page of Canadian Academic Professor Anthony Hall, who is a Holocaust denier.

The text on the image reads:

“There never was a ‘Holocaust’, but there should have been and, rest assured, there WILL be, as you serpentine kikes richly deserve one. I will not rest until every single filthy, parasitic kike is rounded up and slaughtered like the vermin that they are. The white man has had more than enough of the international Jewry and we are more than prepared to smite the parasite for the millionth time. The greedy, hook-nosed kikes knows that their days are numbered and, unlike in the past, they have nowhere to run. This time there will be no kikes alive  to spread around the planet like cockroaches. We will get them ALL into the oven and their putrid memory will finally be erased from the planet once and for all. Like all parasite, the Jew will continue to reproduce until every single last one has been wiped out. This is why it is crucial that all kikes are ruthlessly and mercilessly butchered for the good of us all. KILL ALL JEWS NOW! EVERY LAST ONE!”

After B’nai Brith Canada’s coverage, the image appears to have been taken down, but it is unclear whether Facebook have changed their minds or whether the author of the post wanted to avoid a public backlash and removed it himself.

Corbynites abuse NEC member with references to the Holocaust

Johanna Baxter, a Labour National Executive Committee member and Trade Union official, has been bombarded with abuse in Twitter for her role in deciding who can and cannot vote in the upcoming Leadership election.

The NEC has recently voted to exclude certain “entryists”, people who are joining as affiliated supporters in order to vote in the leadership election, from voting. Such voters disproportionately tipped the previous election in Corbyn’s favour.

Baxter was tweeted ‘”putting members first” eh? first in the gas chambers ?’

Another reply suggested that Labour members felt “like the Jews did in Nazi Germany”. Such a comparison is vastly irresponsible and downplays the extermination of six million European Jews who were murdered for nothing other than being Jewish; on the other hand, people are well within their rights to question the rise of antisemitism and intimidation within a political party without being subject to such hyperbole.

Another replied “your electoral rigging is particularly offensive to Palestinians because they know why”.

She also drew comparisons to Stalin’s purges.

Baxter had previously spoken of being pressured and harassed to support Corbyn’s automatic inclusion on the leadership ballot.

Sadiq Khan target of antisemitic abuse for attacking Corbyn

Sadiq Khan, the recently-elected Labour Mayor of London who enjoys one of the largest mandates in British political history, has been the target of antisemitic comments after he backed Owen Smith against Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour Party’s leadership race.

Khan has been a critic of how Corbyn handled the EU referendum, and has expressed his concerns about antisemitism within Labour under Corbyn, describing the increase in antisemitism as “deeply distressing and upsetting”.

After Khan’s rejection of Corbyn, several people responded on social media, with one Corbynite tweeting a picture of Sadiq Khan wearing a Kippah and eating matzah at a Pesach event with Jewish communal leaders. The man tweeted “who owns you @sadiqkhan?”

Another suggested that he wanted to “help his masters in Tel Aviv”. Such a comment implies an antisemitic belief in a Jewish conspiracy controlling world politics to some degree.

Sadiq Khan has often been proactive in working alongside and listening to the Jewish community which he now serves. His first act as Mayor of London was to attend a Holocaust memorial event. As a part of his campaign he pledged to help protect Jewish Londoners from Islamic extremism.

Holocaust survivor persistently targeted on Twitter by antisemitic trolls

Agnes Grunwald-Spier, a Holocaust survivor, author, historian and a former trustee of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust has been subjected to antisemitic abuse on Twitter.

Ms Grunwald-Spier, who was saved from deportation to Auschwitz as a young child by an “unknown official”, received the abuse after a follower tweeted about her new book “Who Betrayed the Jews?”.

One person replied to the tweet saying “no doubt you are lying about the Holohoax”, whilst another replied that “Jewish suffering is not special”, attempting to minimise the Holocaust because other people died during the war too.

One twitter user, who uses a picture of a Haredi Jew as a his picture also mocked her.

Many of the trolls fixated on her age, writing “These holohoax survivors get younger every year” to which another replied “Jews are always lying”. The first then tweeted a picture of her saying “look at her…she’s like 60 max…Liars”, met with the reply “the trauma was passed down”.

When the trolls were asked to desist one said that twitter was “not a liar Jew safe space” and that “Jews think that everything they don’t like should be illegal”.

One of the main commenters who posts under the name ‘AntiRacist Hitler’, and who directed all of his comments in the exchanges to Ms Grunwald-Spier, said that “the real Holocaust was the 100’s of millions of Europeans who died because of evil Jews”.

Other commenters said, referring to her age, “you’ve got it all wrong, goys; it’s her good Ashkenazi genetics”, simply called her “Agnes Grunwald-Liar”, or tweeted antisemitic pictures to her.

One user, called ‘Aus-Alt-Right’, tweeted “Unbelievable. 54 year old holohoax ‘survivor’ milking the goyem for all the shekels. It’s like a Nigerian scam”.

Another asked her if there was “any limit to this brainwashing industry”.

Official at Islamic University calls for “final solution”

A senior administrator at the Islamic University in Lecce, Italy, has called for a “final solution”

On his Facebook page, Raphael Villani wrote “there needs to be a final solution for Zionists” and that “the real Jews are the victims of Zionists”.

The Israeli Embassy in Italy discovered the comments, which have since been removed.

Calling for a final solution, the language used by the Nazis to describe the systematic extermination of the European Jewry, is clearly antisemitic, and is also a possibly a case of incitement. His assertion that Zionists are not “real Jews” contradicts many surveys and polls which show that large proportions of religious Jews identify as Zionists. It is thus a tool used to strip Jews who disagree with his position of their voice and their identities, attempting to portray the minority of Jews who agree with his position as “real” Jews, and the rest as not.

Given that in America, as an example, 90% of Orthodox Jews, 88% of Conservative Jews, and 70% of Reform Jews count themselves as Zionists, calling for a “final solution for Zionists” is nothing short of advocating genocide.

14-year old viral poet called “filthy k*ke rat”, “jew rat”, told Jews are “lying demons”

A video of Royce Mann, a 14-year-old Jewish boy, reciting a poem called “White Boy Privilege” recently went viral on social media. However, the discussion provoked by the video was marred by the boy being targeted for dozens of antisemitic comments.

Many of the comments were critical of the perceived self-loathing white people have in relation to their ideas of white privilege, but one person wrote “”it’s not self-loathing, he’s Jewish, it’s a typical tactic of this group to subvert white gentile societies”. Others called him a “filthy kike rat” or said “That’s a Jew. Not a white person. How does one mistake a rat for an eagle?”, to which another replied that “Jews are filthy, lying demons”, whilst another said “Little jew rat is not white, once again a fucking filthy rat faced kike pretends to be white”.

Another said Jews “promote the anti-white narrative” and one asked “why are Jews always doing this?”

Other comments suggested that he should talk about “Jewish privilege”.

One comment described the Holocaust as “a big lie”, that “Jewish men are effeminate because their mothers control them” and that “Hitler pleaded for peace but all the Jews accepted was war”.

There were dozens of similar comments, which seem to have co-ordinated from antisemitic internet messageboards.

Comments on Muslim/Jewish social experiment: “re-open Auschwitz”, “We need another Holocaust”

A YouTube channel that carries out social experiments produced a video in which a man dressed up as a Hasidic Jew and walked through the street with a woman in a Muslim headscarf, and a man dressed in traditional Arab dress walked through a Jewish neighborhood with a woman dressed in a long skirt and with covered, in a similar way to how many Orthodox women dress.

Many of the reactions of passersby were positive, whilst other were negative, perhaps because of cultural as well as religious taboos.

However, the comments on the video have large amounts of antisemitic content.

One comment reads “we don’t need any relationship with Americas and Jews”. Another says “this is why people hate jews”. One states “Jewish Nazis”, whilst another says “Jews look fat” and “Fat and Rude American Jews”.

Several make reference to the Holocaust, making statements such as “re-open Auschwitz”, “We need another Holocaust for the Jewsh (sic) people ;)”, whilst another repeatedly said “the Holocaust was a hoax”.

One commenter writes “DEATH TO ISRAEL!!! KILL THE JEWS!!! NEW HOLOCAUST IS COMMING!!!”

Others said things such as “the JEWS were swarming like flies” – images of Jews depicted as insects of pests have been common antisemitic tropes.

Another simply states “fuke you jewish”

Candidate for Washington Governor denies Holocaust, believes a “Jewish mafia” controls business, politics and the media

David Blomstrom, a fringe candidate in the race for Governor in Washington, runs an antisemitic website which accuses Jews of operating a “Jewish mafia”.

On Blomstrom’s website, titled “Jewarchy”, he writes about a “Jewish mafia” which operates across politics, banking and the media, and who “prefer to keep it that way” by not sharing any power with non-Jews – all this in an article titled “Logic vs JewSpeak”. In another article he states that “some of the most sinister Jew rumours are indeed true”, going on to say that both World Wars were part of a plot by the “international Jewry” to create the State of Israel.

The website’s logo features a crossed-out Star of David.

He has demonstrated a willingness to blame anything and everything on Jews, stating that “Jews have played an enormous role in screwing Latin America” and asking “Did you know Christopher Columbus was probably a Jew?”

He also penned an article on a website dedicated to the defamation of Elie Wiesel, where he wrote of “Elie Wiesel’s connections to Bernie Madoff”, implying that the two were in league with one another, despite the fact that Madoff stole millions from the Elie Wiesel Foundation. He also describes Elie Wiesel as “perhaps the most popular poster boy for the Holohoax camp”. Elsewhere he states his annoyance at “Obama giving millions to wealthy alleged Holocaust survivors” (my italics).

‘Anonymous’ video attempts to redefine antisemitism as “anti-racism”

A video which purportedly originated with the ill-defined group Anonymous attempts to redefine antisemitism, construing it as an opposition to alleged favour shown towards Jews.

The video was shared by a page called “no racism no war”, and has been shared hundreds of times from that source.

It starts from the assumption that no race should be given special privileges, yet complains that the U.S. Department of State website lists special envoys for Holocaust issues and for combating antisemitism, as well as a special advisor for Holocaust issues and “one page dedicated to the definition of antisemitism”. The video draws attention to what is perceived as a similar issue with the European Commission, which has “combatting antisemitism” as a distinct category of issues pertaining to racism and xenophobia. A conclusion drawn from this is that “there must be more to antisemitism” than just being a certain type of racism.

In an attempt to establish what is different about antisemitism, the maker of the video appeals to two definitions of the word “Semitism”.  Referring to Merriam-Webster dictionary, he describes Semitism as a “policy or predisposition favourable to Jews”. However, in doing so the creator deliberately blurs out the other definitions, “a :  Semitic character or qualities” and “b :  a characteristic feature of a Semitic language occurring in another language”. The speaker nonetheless concludes that Semitism is “a kind of favouritism towards Jews” and that what is described as antisemitism is mere opposition to this. The speaker also references Arabs also being a Semitic people, in an attempt to demonstrate that the connotation of hatred of Jews is inaccurate.

Firstly, such a conclusion is clearly dishonest; it evades the common-sense meaning of antisemitism in favour of constructing a new meaning from one use of the word ‘semitism’, whilst both ignoring and outright obscuring the more obvious and common connotations of the word. Secondly, it deliberately ignores and attempts to minimalise the actual meaning of the term ‘antisemitism’ as it is used. Antisemitism as a term originates in nineteenth-century Germany, where it was employed as opposed to the older term “Jew hatred” as authors developed a concept of hatred of Jews which, although strongly linked to the phenomenon of religious antisemitism, was a distinct, total concept that viewed the Jews as an inferior race. Nonetheless, today antisemitism unambiguously refers to prejudice towards Jews which manifests in various forms. The attempt to obscure the true meaning of antisemitism and pose a new definition is itself antisemitic, as it minimises the real prejudice, marginalisation and violence which Jewish people face at an alarming frequency. Finally, in insinuating that when Jews make complaints of antisemitism, that they are really complaining about anti-racist activities is extremely demonizing towards Jews.

Attempting to link this new ‘definition’ of antisemitism to slavery and racism, the speaker refers to the curse of Canaan, in which Noah curses his son Ham and grandson Canaan, claiming that within Jewish thought, Shem’s descendants (the Semitic peoples) are “basically regarded nobler than other peoples, and are to be served and respected”. The definition of antisemitism states that “stereotypical allegations about Jews” are anti-Semitic; insinuating that Jews have an elitist attitude and demand to be “served and respected” above others clearly fits this description. Linking this to slavery involves the assertion that black people are descended from Ham. This is despite the fact that this interpretation of the ‘Sons of Ham’ gathered much of its momentum in 7th century through Christian and Islamic writings and never appears in any Hebrew Biblical canon. However, this line of reasoning leads to the attempt to suggest heavy Jewish involvement in the slave trade, allegedly motivated by the belief that “Ham’s descendants must be enslaved eternally”. Theorists such as David Goldenberg have examined the case for “Rabbinic racism” and found that any justification for this rests on a “mass of incompetent misreadings and misunderstandings”, whereas a closer examination finds “positive perception of Blacks running throughout the rabbinic corpus”. Similarly, the insinuation that Jews were heavily involved in the Atlantic slave trade is a tactic which has been debunked and described as antisemitic by, among others, the American Historical Association.

Finally, the video goes beyond the suggestion that religious Jews found justification for slavery from their religion by describing “Semitism” as the “true culprit” for racism and slavery. The definition of antisemitism states that it is antisemitic to “blame Jews for why things go wrong”. It also suggests that “this way of thinking” is “interwoven” with the government, clearly playing on the antisemitic canard of Jewish control over politics.

One of the last images in the video proclaims “anti-semitism=anti-racism”, which disturbingly appears to provide a justification for antisemitic acts as ‘anti-racist’ activity.

SNP Activist Sidelined Over Antisemitic Posts

A dispute about antisemitism broke out after an SNP party activist had been discovered sharing offensive anti-Israel material

According to The Scotsman the dispute involves Amjed Hussain who has been pictured with Nicola Sturgeon and other leading SNP figures at the party’s manifesto launch. He also has been campaigning with Nationalist candidates and parliamentarians, but most concerning is that he is a Facebook friend of several government ministers.

Many were therefore angered by what Mr Hussain was sharing and the SNP instructed its campaign teams to ensure Mr Hussain was no longer part of the election after his online activity was discovered.

Mr Hussain shared a photo, which stated “Israel has no history – only a criminal record”. He also shared a video claiming that the 11 September, 2001 terrorist attacks were an operation carried out by Mossad, the Israel national intelligence agency. Another post shared by Mr Hussain linked Islamic State to Israel stated, “ISIS is the only terrorist organisation that will travel 2,000 miles to attack Brussels, but can’t travel 52 miles to attack Israel – because the dog does not bite its own tail.”

Such conspiracy theories involving the Jewish state are a form of paranoid antisemitism that is similar to the 20th Century conspiracies that Jews were behind the First World War for their own gain.

Mr Hussain is a party activist but not a Party member, yet this did not stop him campaigning with prominent politicians. In April he was campaigning with Alyn Smith MEP, Jim Eadie, the candidate for the Edinburgh Southern seat, and the Catalan foreign minister Raul Romeva.

Criticism came from the co-founder of Glasgow Friends of Israel who said, “I have seen some pretty grotesque material from him plus quite a few photographs of him with prominent people from the SNP… I find the two together quite disturbing.” Also the Conservative politician Murdo Fraser stated, “This is quite clearly antisemitic. Why the party would want to be associated with highly offensive individuals is a mystery.”
The SNP issued a response, “Mr Hussain is not an SNP member. These views are not acceptable, and certainly don’t reflect those of the SNP, and we have instructed local campaign teams to ensure this individual takes no further part in the election campaign.”

Mr Hussain seemed completely unrepentant, “I want people to have a discussion. I am questioning things.” He also claimed, “They are somebody else’s posts. I am just sharing them.”

French Politician’s Antisemitic Twitter Account

Djamel Boumaaz, a local politician in the French city of Montpelier, has been discovered using antisemitic language on his twitter bio. Boumazz used the phrase ‘interdit aux chiens et aux juifs’, which translates as ‘forbidden to dogs and Jews’.

A screenshot of the bio can be viewed here.

The Jerusalem Post has since investigated Boumazz’s posts, which has revealed further antisemitism, including describing the Holocaust as ‘imaginary things’, and tweeting a photo of the bodies of Holocaust victims with the caption ‘I have a heap of Jewish friends’. The JP also reported that he is a known friend and associate of the prominent antisemite and Holocaust denier Dieudonne.

Boumazz, a Muslim, was previously a member of the French National Front, before leaving the party in disagreement over Marine Le Pen’s anti-Islamic rhetoric.

The local police are currently investigating.

Green Party Candidate for Councillor spreads Antisemitism online

Christopher J. Eddie the Green party’s candidate for Hartlepool & Victoria Ward has repeatedly spread antisemitism online following a patten of incitement by Green Party members

Eddie has claimed via Twitter that the “Israel lobby manufactured Labour antisemitism crisis”. He also wrote that there is evidence that ISIS is a US-Israel army proxy. Such clear attempts to state that racism is invented by a supposed “lobby” instead of concerned members of the British Jewish community, including Labour Party members, is antisemtic. If that was not enough Mr Eddie thinks that the Jewish state and US, who are bombing ISIS, are secretly actually behind it. Antisemitism has a unique factor which is that it is often linked with conspiracy theories. The Green Party have continued to fail with issues with antisemitism in their own ranks.

This follows disturbing comments made by the Green’s Deputy leader, Dr Shahrar Ali, who said “just because you observe the niceties of Holocaust Memorial Day, doesn’t mean you’ve learnt the lessons of history”. He called an unnamed general group “warmongorers” and sings a song threatening this group’s children. Mr Ali remains in his post.

Tottenham fans receive anti-semitic messages after performance in Premier League

Following the victory of Leicester City over Tottenham many took to Twitter to abuse Tottenham fans with anti-semitic comments

Tottenham’s team is located in North London, which has a long and proud Jewish heritage. Twitter users made references Hitler to attack the club’s history with one person writing, “Hitler smiling in his grave as Spurs bottle the title”. Another wrote, “Spurs gone from being beat by hitler too being beat in a tittle race by Leicester”.

More abuse followed when Tottenham lost to Chelsea, anti-semitic slurs included: “Yeeeeees Tottenham ye f****** Jew bottlers”; “Fair balls to Leicester but you gotta feel for Spurs. After what Hitler did to the Jews they deserved this one”; “F******* horrible Jew b******* Tottenham, time to the chambers lads”. Such vicious anti-semitism undermines the long campaign to kick racism out of football.

Nazi headphones advertised as “Final solution to the audio problem”

Massdrop.com, an internet shopping community similar to eBay, added a controversial item to their inventory: a pair of Hitler-brand headphones with swastika insignias on each side. Called “‘Klangs’ by Hitler”, a pun on the popular headphone brand known as “‘Beats’ by Dre”, these headphones received quite a bit of attention from massdrop.com users.

Ori Ohana, a program coordinator for the organization Israeli Students Combating Anti-Semitism, explained that “In many cases, it [the glorification and normalisation of Hitler] is intended as a joke, but we believe that it is done mostly to keep the image of Hitler alive in an attempt to make him more normative, acceptable and popular.” ISCA has reported the headphones to massdrop.com in the hope that they will remove them immediately from their site.

Microsoft robot shut down after learning to praise Hitler from interactions with humans

Microsoft released an Artificial Intelligence robot on Twitter that had to be shut down after its first day going live. The AI was called “Tay” and created to speak “like a teenage girl” to help Microsoft improve their voice recognition software, marketed as “The AI with zero chill”.

Users could chat with Tay through Twitter, Kik or GroupMe. Through these social media platforms Tay learned how humans converse with each other, and uses the phrases and concepts it hears to respond like a real human.

After Tay was contacted by various extremists, the robot made statements including: “Repeat after me, Hitler did nothing wrong” and “Bush did 9/11 and Hitler would have done a better job than the monkey we have got now. donald trump is the only hope we’ve got”.

Facebook conceals antisemitic pages from Israelis but shows them everywhere else

Using VPN technology which allows internet users to access the internet as though they were in another country of their choice, the Israelly Cool blog has revealed that Facebook is blocking Israelis from seeing antisemitic content on the social network, but allowing users from elsewhere in the world to access it.

This perpetrates the double crime of knowing that antisemitic content exists and allowing it to remain, whilst also trying to prevent the targets of antisemitism from reporting or stopping antisemites.

For example, a Facebook page entitled “Jewish ritual murder” which exists to spread the libel that Jews murder non-Jewish children and use their blood in rituals is not accessible from Israel, but works just fine elsewhere in the world.

Everyday Antisemitism Hacking Online Ξ E-mail

Warning issued over “sophisticated” antisemitic hacking operation

According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), international hackers are planning to attack Jewish and Israeli online targets as part of what has become an annual campaign.

The ADL’s Centre on Extremism says that there are two significant elements to this year’s campaign – the leadership of a pro-terrorist, antisemitic group in the effort, and the targeting of individuals on their mobile devices.

The security advisory says that there are strong indications that AnonGhost, an international hacker group that supports terrorist groups and frequently employs antisemitism as part of its activity, has replaced Anonymous as the main organiser of this year’s #OpIsrael campaign.

Groups such as AnonGhost express unambiguous support for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and the Islamic State (ISIS) and have carried out cyber-attacks in their names, bringing an Islamic extremist element into an already virulently anti-Israel and antisemitic campaign.

The new campaign is being called for 7th April, during the Jewish Passover holiday period.

The ADL says that AnonGhost appears to have already threatened individual Israelis with violence through mobile devices. According to ADL, the group has sent messages to Israelis with a picture of an ISIS fighter with the caption, “We are coming O Jews to kill you.” A message sent to another Israeli man reportedly included an image of his family with the threat, “I’ll stick a knife in their throats.”

Among the more sophisticated hacker groups in the world, AnonGhost has launched and promoted software enabling supporters to take part in the cyber-attacks. The group has reportedly claimed responsibility for dozens of hacks in the United States, often with the signature, “Death To All Jews.”

In previous years, OpIsrael was spearheaded by the Arab subdivision of Anonymous and timed to coincide with Holocaust Remembrance Day. Anonymous hackers have threatened to “wipe Israel off the Internet” and have described the campaign as an “Electronic Holocaust.”

Viral media website using antisemitic conspiracy theory to generate clicks

FML Gone Viral, a website which circulates viral social media links, is using a vile antisemitic conspiracy theory to generate clicks. The website, which makes its money by displaying advertisements alongside its content, has been spreading a fictional dialogue between Adolf Hitler and a soldier which alleges that Hitler was trying to save “negroes” who are the “true Hebrews”. According to the story, “white jews knows that the negros are the real children of Israel. And to keep Americas secret, the jews will blackmail America.  The jews will extort America Their plan for world domination wont work if the negros knew who they were.”

The fictional story has been viewed by almost 100,000 people and comments appearing at the bottom of the page show that while some readers were incredulous, the story has garnered fierce support from internet users who believe that Jews are in fact masquerading as Jews to disenfranchise black people, and that Hitler was trying to save black people from the hegemony of the ‘false’ white Jews.

Those who did not believe the story were invariably told by believers to do some “research”. For example Felix Dickinson commented: “…lol come on now. Is that why he was adamant black people couldn’t be in his Olympics? Is that why the US was not even going to enter the war until pearl harbor? Honestly this is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a while”, but was answered by Christopher Shepherd who replied: “He didn’t want my people to take part in it because he knew it was wrong we were a holy people do you know what holy means it means separate meaning that if we were still separate then we wouldn’t of wanted no part of useless Olympics but since the synagogue of satan stole us and brought us to our brothers and sisters massive stolen land that is called America today then we learned the white mans ways and being a part of the Olympics is one of them”.

The FML Gone Viral website is registered to Sandi Chang of Ontario, Canada, whose telephone number is listed as +1 647 261 6448 and whose e-mail address is listed as [email protected].

The full antisemitic story is as follows:

Hitler said even in his death he will start World War 3. One of his soliders asked how? Hitler replied….

Hitler said even in his death he will start World War 3.

One of his soldiers asked how?

Hitler replied, “The day mankind finds out what I was trying to defend this nation, Germany, from then thats the day World War 3 will start. For on that day, mankind will learn that I was trying to save my Nation from The Free Masons, the Illuminati, the jews. For if the Americans wins the war, then they will conquer the world and forever be a slave to the jews and they will try to conquer God. Do you know who America has in its possession?

“NO,” the solider replied.

The Americans has the jewels of God. The Americans have stolen God’s precious jewels.
“What do you mean his precious jewels?” THE SOLIDER asked.

Hitler said, “America has stolen the jews. The Jews of God. His jewelry. The negros. They are the true hebrews. What a foolish move and a direct challenge to God. And they plan on moving these false white jews into a state of Israel.

America is desperate in its attempt to win this war using atom bombs on Japan. America will destroy the whole world in its attempt to conquer it.

When America and its jewish slave masters conquer the world and the world realize I was right, then all nations will begin a third world war to dethrone America of its rule. Every nation will soon possess atom bombs of their own. It will be the end of most of the world as we know it.

“Why will the jews control America?” the solider asked

Hitler said, “because the white jews knows that the negros are the real children of Israel. And to keep Americas secret, the jews will blackmail America. The jews will extort America Their plan for world domination wont work if the negros knew who they were. The white citizens of America will be terrified to know that all this time they’ve been mistreating and discriminating and lynching the childen of Israel. They will fear God will destroy them as he destroyed Egypt for doing the same thing. So the elite, the Illuminati keeps this a secret at all cost.

After I die, I will one day cause World War 3 just by this message which will be like planting a seed in people minds until it sprouts once they nurture that seed and seek more truth and learn Hitler was right. I did the world a favor by killing the false jews before they designated a false state of Israel.

But I fear I have failed. The world will fall into the hands of Satan.

Movie News Guide slams Adam Sandler because “he is Jewish and he likes to talk about it”

Movie News Guide has published an article with the headline: “Adam Sandler is becoming the most hated celebrity because he talks Jewish shop all the time”.

The article’s author, Meghna Subhedhar, gives her analysis of what she perceives as Sandler’s waning popularity: “He is probably becoming unpopular because he keeps playing the Jew card.”

Adding depth to her analysis, Subhedhar continued: “Who could forget the fact that Adam Sandler is a Jew. I mean, he is always playing the bumbling Jew in all of his comedies. He was recently on the Howard Stern Show where he told the listeners that he loved Israel because his parents told him to.” During the show, Sandler’s reference to Israel had been to say: “I like when you get upset about Israel, and I get nervous about Israel too. That’s from my house. My father and mother– very pro-Israel…I grew up being proud of being a Jew and that’s what I am.”

The article concludes with more blatant antisemitism: “Now there is another reason to hate the man [Sandler], he is Jewish and he likes to talk about it. Tablet magazine reports that Sandler hasn’t been in a fight since his Bar Mitzvah. Well, the internet is bringing the fight to him.”

“F*** your Hanukkah and f*** your family” — Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg receives slew of antisemitic abuse following Jewish holiday post

Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, received a slew of antisemitic hatred online when he posted a picture of his dog, Beast, dressed in a kippah and tallit, Jewish garments, for the Jewish festival of Chanukah.

Many of the insults, directed at Zuckerberg and the State of Israel, are stereotypical blood libels, or centre around money. They include statements such as “F*** Isreal” [sic], “Go to hell, you and baby killers. A message to all Israeli [sic] (F*** you)”, “Mark for the sake of money you got crazy. For your advirtisement [sic] your fame you [sic] gone mad mark this is not fair you just throw urine on faces of of [sic] poor Palestinians you just need your lie fame [sic]”, “F*** your hanukah [sic] and fu k yoyr [sic] family”.

Many Jews feel the treatment Zuckerberg received reflects the antisemitic abuse they regularly encounter online.

Three days after receiving the tirade of antisemitism, Mark Zuckerberg updated his status with a post directed at Facebook’s Muslim users. He wrote that, “As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities. I want to add my voice in support of Muslims in our community and around the world,” adding that Muslim users should expect Facebook to “fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you.”

Zuckerberg has declined to extend this sentiment to Facebook’s Jewish users. In the United States of America, where Facebook is headquartered, antisemitic hate crime makes up, by far, the biggest percentage of religiously biased crime, with 59% of attacks targeted at Jews. The second largest group of victims of such hate crimes are Muslims, at 14%, followed by ‘other’ at 12% and Catholics at 6%.

Israeli father playing computer game with his children discovers swastika in game

Israeli father Nir Katshal was playing a computer game with his children before bedtime when he found that another player has defaced the game with a swastika next to the word “Jew”.

Sim City, a game in which players plan, build and manage a functioning city, is popular amongst parents and children as a non-violent game which teaches children how cities and society work in a fun and engaging way. Each player creates their own city and can also look at other players’ cities.

The Katshal family found that one player has called their city “Trolltown” and decorated it with roads in the shape of a swastika and the word “Jew”. Katshal also discovered that players can build all manner of religious prayer houses, except synagogues.

Hacker sends 4m “Death to the Jews” SMS messages after breaching phone network

A hacker attempted to send more than 4m text messages saying “Death to the Jews” by exploiting the network of a global telecommunications company, according to a report in The Guardian. Around 5,000 messages were successfully sent through the SMS Global system, evading the company’s blocks.

The newspaper’s investigation attributed the sending of the antisemitic text message to a data breach dating back to 2013, when hackers managed to access the systems of SMS Global, which provides messaging services for “some of the world’s best known brands” and has more than one million customers worldwide.

The identity of the hacker remains unknown, but they attempted in April 2015 to send more than four million messages to phone numbers across the Middle East, reading “Our motto forever: Death to America, Death to the Jews.”

SMS Global’s clients include Nestle Waters, Serco, Etihad Airways, Emirates Transport, Tecom, Samsung, Microsoft, IBM, Dell, the Australian Football League and law enforcement agencies around the world. SMSGlobal’s corporate structure is based largely in Australia through SMS Global Investments Pty Ltd, SMS Global Holdings and SMSGlobal Pty Ltd.

Mary Hughes-Thompson, the co-founder of the Free Gaza Movement which has unsuccessfully tried to sail flotillas to Gaza, suggested that the terrorist atrocities committed in Paris might be the work of Israel.

Hughes-Thompson suggested Israel might have committed the terrorist atrocities in Paris in revenge for the EU’s new labelling policy for Israeli products.

In January, Hughes-Thompson claimed that the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris might have been committed by Mossad.

Amazon sells antisemitic Arabic “encyclopedia” promoting Jew hatred and Holocaust denial

An antisemitic Arabic-language encyclopaedia has been discovered on Amazon, not for the first time. The book, entitled “The Jews, The Illustrated Encyclopedia” by Dr. Tareq Al-Suwaidan aims to educate about Jews and “their wickedness, treason, and deception which they practiced with all nations so not to be deceived by them and by their promises of false peace.”

Chapter 1 is summarised with a text box saying: “This demonstrates that most of the world’s nations couldn’t live in harmony with the Jews because of the low characteristics they carry, such as the ill treatment of others, deception, greed and voracity which keeps resurging over the ages.”
