Saudi “scholar” claims that Jews are trying to take over the world using Hollywood

Sheikh Sa’ad ibn Abdullah Al-Humayd, a Saudi scholar who is Professor of Hadith studies at King Saud University in Riyadh, has used his prominent position in the country to peddle an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

Speaking on March 21 in an interview that was subsequently translated by MEMRI, he said “some people question the authenticity The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and indeed, we have some questions about this book” before continuing to say “it’s not clear how the news about so secret an organization can spread everywhere, especially since these people hold such power, as we all know. However, if we look at reality, we see that what appears in this book is implemented”.

He even speculated that Jews had circulated the infamous hoax themselves, saying “is it possible that they had studied the psychological effect that might be caused by reading such a book, and reached the conclusion that this psychological effect would serve them well? It’s possible. Only Allah knows. At any rate, we do not have proof for the authenticity of The Protocols, except for what exists in reality”.

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was a infamous antisemitic hoax that originated in 19th Century Russia, and which has continually been used to incite violence against Jews, including by the Nazis who made extensive use of the text and its accusations.

He then mixes in a slightly more recent “Jews control Hollywood” conspiracy theory, saying “if we consider Hollywood, for example, and look at the films it produces, and at the feverish competition meant to preoccupy the people with the arts, with sports, with theater, and with films, and to aggrandize those insignificant people, such as actors, male and female dancers, sportsmen and sportswomen… This includes bringing women into games which they cannot perform, but into which they have been cast. It includes the arts, in all its diverse forms. They drown the people in such an atmosphere”.

Conservative Iranians blame “Jewish influence” for Tehran Mosque’s “ugly” design

A large new Mosque being built in Tehran, the capital of Iran, which has been hailed as evoking the “austerity of early Islam” has attracted ire from conservative forces in the country.

Reza Daneshmir, one of the architects of the Mosque, has said that the design departs with traditional Mosque architecture partly to appeal to young, less religious professionals in the city, adding that they “wanted it to be an avant-garde project, not a conservative and backward one”.

The Vali-e-Asr Mosque has been divisive in Iran. Whilst it has many supporters and admirers, one news source, Mashregh, has said that the building “looks like a Jewish kippa” and called for the architects to be tried for treason for “aiding the Zionist conspiracy”.

Other conservative voices in the country have decried the Mosque as the result of “Jewish and secular influence”. The idea that Jews are behind attempts to modernise is a common theme in European antisemitism, in which Jews are portrayed as attempting to erode national cultures. Like many forms of European antisemitism, it is an idea that is finding increasing amounts of traction in the Middle East.

Former Hamas official spouts variant of blood libel myth, blaming Jews for “every despicable deed” in Europe

Mustafa al-Lidawi, formerly a senior official of Hamas, has written a variant of the classic antisemitic blood libel myth in Ma’am, an Arabic newspaper.

Al-Lidawi called Purim a “holiday that the people of Europe hated and detested and wished that the Jews would leave their countries so they could be saved from their wickedness”. He continued that “this is because the Jews who lived in Europe would always bake a large pastry on the occasion of the holiday, and everyone would eat it. However, this pastry was mixed with the blood of a victim they chose from among those who were not Jews. Most of the time the victim was a little boy”.

Blood libel is an antisemitic myth that originated in England, and typically revolves around the accusation that Jews used the blood of Christian children to bake matzah. However, it has many variants, most of which involve accusations of Jews engaging in ritualistic killing. Blood libel was imported into the Middle East by Imperial powers and has become a prominent part of contemporary Islamist antisemitism.

Al-Lidawi linked this blood libel to Israel, stating that “his Jewish mentality and this ancient Jewish nature have not changed. For they fashioned their joy from the blood of others, hold their celebrations at the expense of the sighs and groans of the victims who they tortured, and base their happiness on the sorrow of others”.

His comments are a disturbing reminder that behind the purported political motivations of Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation, there lies a hardcore antisemitism that mirrors the same mentalities that fuelled hundreds of years of persecution of Jews in Europe.  Whilst the fact that someone who was a senior official in Hamas has made such blatantly antisemitic comments is not remotely surprising, his comments provide a telling illustration of the profound antisemitism at the heart of the terrorist group.

UN drops Palestinian “Supermom” who claims Jews drink Arab blood, yet Amnesty International fail to act

Crowned a “Supermom” by the Arab press, Manal Tamimi, 45, a pro-terrorist Palestinian activist, has recently lost her status as a UN “human rights defender” because of antisemitic tweets that accuse Jews of drinking Palestinian blood.

On September, 2015, this post appeared on Tamimi’s Twitter feed: “Vampire zionist celebrating their Kebore Day [Yom Kippur] by drinking Palestinian bloods, yes our blood is pure and delicious but it will kill u at the end” (September, 2015).

Tamimi’s tweet promotes the classic blood libel, which goes back centuries, that Jews murder non-Jews, especially children, so that Jews can use their blood to bake matzos for Passover, and re-enact the crucifixion of Christ.

The tweet is part of a series of antisemitic tweets that Tamimi posted starting in 2015. The married mother of four calls for both violence against Jews, “Zio roaches”, and the destruction of Israel. The tweets are accompanied by vile drawings that pay tribute to Nazi era political cartoons.

“I do hate Israel, i do hate zionism, i wish a third Intefada  [Intifada] coming soon and people rais [raise] up and kills all these zionist settlers everywhere”. (August 1, 2015)

“…I have a very good Jew friends, I hate Zionists & I’m not denying that, Zionism, KKK and ISIS R all the same to me” (August 20, 2017)

“The much needed button–delete Israel” [referring to nuclear holocaust] (October 5, 2015)

“You will never make peace with vampires because the taste of your blood will always attract them” (March 31, 2016)

However, it is significant that Tamimi, who is constantly calling for the expulsion of Jews from Israel, only lost her honored title because of an official complaint about her tweets that was filed by the NGO Monitor, Jerusalem, a watchdog that tracks the activities of human rights groups. A letter of protest was delivered to the UN Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights.

In response to NGO Monitor’s complaint, Tamimi, the leader of the Popular Resistance Organization Committee, was removed from the list of “human rights defenders” that had been compiled by S. Michael Lynk, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in the disputed territories.

Earlier this year, Tamimi, who runs an online news service, the Tamimi Press, spoke at a  EU financed conference that was held in Barcelona, Spain. The topic was “preventing violent extremism”.

Her participation in that conference strains the boundaries of reason. Every Friday, for the past 7 1/2 years, Tamimi, her husband, Bilal, and their followers, have marched from their  village of Nabi Saleh, to the Jewish community of Halamish, where the group hurls rocks at the Israeli soldiers, who are guarding the town. On July 21, 2017, in Halamish, three members of the Salomon family were stabbed to death by Palestinian terrorists while they were having their Shabbat dinner.

It is important to note that Tamimi has not publicly condemned the murders, and, in fact,  sees nothing wrong with stone throwing. According to a report in the Algemeiner, “the Tamimi’s contend that the soldiers’ arrests of rock throwers constitutes persecution of the residents of Nabi Saleh”.

It is a given, however, that a thrown stone is as dangerous as a gun. In recent years at least 15 Israelis have been murdered as a result of stone throwing, and countless others have been injured. Given Tamimi’s mindset, it is deeply troubling that she was invited to appear at a conference that condemns violence.

And the fact that this conference was funded by the European Union is of great concern. NGO Monitor President Gerald Steinberg told the Algemeiner, “There is no excuse for funding Jew hatred in the guise of promoting peace…or for giving antisemites such as Tamimi the status of ‘human rights defenders'”.

Steinberg is highly critical of the actions of both the UN and the EU: “the disconnect between noble objectives and immoral actions has been clear for many years”. Steinberg believes that “full transparency and oversight for the massive sums [of money] going to radical NGOs is crucial so that this behavior is halted”.

However, unlike the UN, Amnesty International, has embraced Tamimi’s cause, despite her blatant antisemitism. According to the Algemeiner, “Amnesty has declared that Tamimi’s village, Nabi Saleh, is a “community-at-risk”.

Amnesty researcher, Saleh Hijazi, who has worked in the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) Ministry of Planning has publicly stated: “We need to tell the Israeli authorities: enough – you are no longer facing a tiny village on a small hill. You now have the entire Amnesty movement to reckon with”.

According to the Algemeiner, in an undated essay published in the Huffington Post, Edith Garwood, Amnesty International USA’s specialist on Israel, the disputed territories and the PA, wrote that Tamimi’s group from Nabi Saleh “face frequent violent repression from the Israeli army just for practicing their human rights to peacefully expression their opposition” to Israel.

Garwood believes that “even in cases where the protesters have thrown stones…these have posed little or no serious risk” to the targeted Israelis.

The fact that Garwood, a prominent Amnesty International official, can so easily disregard Tamimi’s virulent antisemitic tweets, while downplaying the connection between stone throwing and fatal traumatic brain injuries, should send up a red flag to the international community.

Amnesty International fails on all levels, as a social justice organization, when its contempt  for Israel is so great, that it whitewashes stone throwing as a form of legitimate peaceful protest.

What Amnesty International’s position regarding Tamimi’s remark that Jews are blood-drinking vampires is unknown.

However, what is known is that, in 2016, government officials banned Tamimi from entering the UK. The British Home Office  has refused to explain why Tamimi was denied a visa.

Haaretz journalist Allison K Sommer compares Haredim to neo-Nazis

Allison Kaplan Sommer, a journalist for the English language edition of Haaretz, has compared Haredim in Israel to neo-Nazis.

Writing on Twitter, Sommer said “Sorry, Tal, but the haredim are as as hateful to Reform Jews as the neo-Nazis are to Jews, and secular Israelis stand by silently”

Whilst there are genuine problems in terms of intra-communal relations in Israel, and legitimate criticisms can be made of the response of some Haredim to non-Orthodox Jews, such a comparison is flippant, inflammatory and comes across as deliberately hurtful, as does any attempt to compare Jews to Nazis.

She faced a backlash from her Twitter followers, and from others, but does not appear to have apologised for her comments.

Iran’s Supreme leader calls to destroy “cancerous tumour” Israel, seemingly blames Israel for ISIS

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, has called for a “holy intifada” to destroy the “cancerous tumour” of Israel.

In his opening address to Iran’s sixth international conference in support of the Palestinians, Khamenei described the whole world as being on a collision course with the “Zionist regime”. He said “From the beginning, this cancerous tumor has been developing in several phases until it turned into the current disaster…the cure for this tumor should be developed in phases as well.”

Describing Israel as a “cancerous tumour” is reminiscent of antisemitic language used against Jews, particularly in Nazi Germany, which referred to Jews as vermin or diseases which needed to be eradicated. The idea of Jews as a disease is still very common in far right antisemitism. According to the definition of antisemitism, it is antisemitic to use the “symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism to characterise Israel or Israelis”.

He reportedly blamed Israel for the current upheaval in the wider Middle East. Accusing Israel of founding, organising or funding ISIS is currently a very common antisemitic conspiracy theory which we are increasingly encountering online, and which we have covered instances of several times, including from a prominent anti-Zionist Facebook group and from a London-based Labour party fundraiser.

The Ayatollah said “the people of Palestine have no option other than keeping the flames of fighting alight by relying on Allah the Exalted and by relying on their innate capabilities, as they have genuinely done so until today” and also described the “brutal occupation” of Palestine as the worst case of oppression of a group of people in recorded history.

As an organisation, we have no position with the conflict between Israel, the Palestinians and other Middle Eastern states. However, describing the situation of Palestinians as the worst case of oppression in recorded history is ahistorical to the point of amounting to denial of the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, the Rwandan Genocide and a plethora of other atrocities in human history. It is a statement that is calculated to demonise Jews as the perpetrators of the worst atrocity in human history, which is in turn being used to incite terrorism.

Palestinian TV: Jews stole Kim Kardashian’s diamonds

Last October a huge story hit the press worldwide, when Kim Kardashian and friend Simone Harouche were robbed at gunpoint in Paris, with Kim Kardashian’s diamond ring being among the things stolen.

The story attracted large amounts of attention in the world press, and it was eventually reported that the suspects were a group of men of differing backgrounds, some of whom were Jewish.

However, Palestinian Authority TV (PA TV) seized upon the opportunity of some Jews being implicated in a high profile crime to smear all Jews, having their “Israeli affairs expert” comment on the crime.

PA TV did not bother to mention that the majority of the suspects were not Jewish, with 15 non-Jews also allegedly being involved.

The “expert” provided the following comment:

“Jews who robbed singer (sic.) Kim Kardashian have been arrested. It turns out that they are Jews. That is what is written – it’s not me who says they are thieves. That is written in [the Israeli daily] Yediot Aharonot, it’s not from me. It says “Jews.” They are thieves. In other words – they steal lands here too, no? But the engagement ring worth $5 million could not be found. They did not find it. The Jews hid it and turned it into something else”

Palestinian Media Watch points out that this demonstrates that the antisemitism in PA TV is so deeply ingrained that “even a single mention of two Jews anywhere in the world in a negative context is all that is needed launch another PA Antisemitic rant”. This is a poignant point – there is no attempt to provide either genuine analysis of the crime, or to even portray the events accurately. It is simply an opportunity to milk a high profile public event to demonise Jews and to entrench antisemitism in the Palestinian population.

Wiesenthal Center raises concerns over new Venezuelan Vice President’s ties to Hizbollah

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has raised concerns over Tareck El Aissami’s, the newly made up Vice President of Venezuela’s, ties to Hezbollah, as well as Islamic regimes in the Middle East.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center released a report which expresses concerns that El Aissami “is closely identified with Shiite Iran, the Hizbollah terrorist organization and Syrian President Bashar Al Assad’s family, whom he apparently hosted in Caracas”.

El-Aissami is also linked by the report, through his links to Iran, to involvement with the 1994 Buenos Aires Jewish Centre bombing, which killed 85 people and injured over 300, as well as to drug and weapon trafficking between Latin America and the Middle East.

The leader of Hizbollah famously said that that “the Jews will gather from all parts of the world into occupied Palestine, not in order to bring about the anti-Christ and the end of the world, but rather that Allah the Glorified and Most High wants to save you from having to go to the ends of the world, for they have gathered in one place–they have gathered in one place–and there the final and decisive battle will take place“.

Despite claims from various people within Hizbollah that the organisation is merely anti-Zionist, and in fact supports the religious rights of Jews, Robert Wistrich’s book “The Fatal Obsession” details how their ideology fuses both political anti-Zionism with historically common, and far more vitriolic, Islamic antisemitism. This includes, but is not limited to, prominent figures within Hizbollah describing Jews as “the grandsons of apes and pigs”, with one official saying “”If we searched the entire world for a person more cowardly, despicable, weak and feeble in psyche, mind, ideology and religion, we would not find anyone like the Jew. Notice, I do not say the Israeli”. Jews being described as “weak” or “cowardly” is a common strand of thought in Islamic antisemitism.

Hizbollah has also imported various elements of Western antisemitism into its ideology, with Hassan Nasrallah allegedly claiming that “Jews invented the legend of the Nazi atrocities”, and saying that it is evident from the Quran “what they did to the prophets”, invoking the common Christian claim that the Jews are collectively responsible for killing Jesus. Both of these claims are those which we may more readily associate with the far right than with far left or Islamic antisemitism.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is thus rightly concerned that the promotion of an individual with close ties to such a group could lead to a worsening situation for the country’s Jews. Hugo Chavez had a long record of making antisemitic statements, and whilst some of these were clearly related to his ideological opposition to Zionism, some demonstrated the characteristics of traditional antisemitism, with him at one point describing Jews as “the descendants of the same ones that crucified Christ”. When challenged about his antisemitism, Chavez went so far as to say that such claims were “part of an imperialist campaign”.

The relationship between Socialist Venezuela and Islamic antisemitism in the Middle East is a complex one. The country may well feel that, in a part of the world in which left wing governments are particularly concerned about the possibility of opposition or interference from America, they must form alliances elsewhere in the world. Unfortunately, in this case it clearly has led to what CAA Chairman Gideon Falter has described as a combining of “the strains of far-right antisemitism, far-left antisemitism and Islamist antisemitism into one super-resistant antisemitic ideology that is almost invulnerable to the usual social immune defences of reason and opprobrium”.

There is a clear risk that El-Aissami may, as  Dr. Ariel Gelblung of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre says “transform antisemitism into state policy and further the transplantation of the Middle East conflict to South America”. Though there have been efforts to protect Venezuela’s Jewish Community, with El-Aissami having been Justice Minister when the Government was forced to reassure the Jewish community following the desecration of Synagogues in 2009, his links to extremism, and to the 1994 attack in Buenos Aires in particular, are extremely worrying for the Jewish community in the country and must be addressed by the Government to convince international observers that Venezuela will be provide safety for its Jews.

Egyptian Sheikh and cleric calls Jews a “cancer”, “germ”, and a “people of falsehood, heresy and decline”

The Middle East Media Research Institute has released footage of an Egyptian cleric, Sheikh Ali Qassem, spouting antisemitic propaganda in a lecture, which is currently on YouTube, called “Path to Allah”, and which was released in December.

In the tirade, he begins by dismissing the concept of “openness towards others” as a “loathsome term”, and seeks to “enlighten” his viewers about the “Jewish Other”.

He then says the Jews “cursed Allah”, that they “slayed innocent people” and “even slayed the prophets”. These two claims mirror long-standing antisemitic canards which were common in Christian Europe. The first resembles a blood libel, examples of which can be found frequently in the Islamic world, but the latter seems to closely correspond to the accusation that Jews “killed Jesus”, who is also considered a prophet in Islam. The claim of “deicide”, as it was to Christians, was frequently used to incite violence against Jews in Christian territories, and a parallel claim seems to be taking root with Islamic extremists.

The cleric then calls Jews “the brethren of apes and pigs”, which is a term increasingly used to smear Jews in the Muslim world, and which has a long history of being applied to Jews by Muslims.

He then uses the term a “people of falsehood, heresy and decline” who will be enemies of the Muslims “until Judgement Day”.

He accuses Jews of having a “covert hatred” towards Muslims which has “not ceased for a single moment”.

He ends the video by celebrating the recent fires in Israel.

Unfortunately, it is very unlikely for antisemitism to start to come to an end in Muslim countries when religious figures are able to pass such unadulterated hatred of Jews off as religious discourse. There is potential for religion to bridge the gap between Jews and Muslims, with both being monotheistic religions, and with various Jewish and Muslim thinkers having written positively about the other, not least of which being Maimonides and his son. However, sadly there are still many cases like this when religion is used to entrench antisemitism in Muslim communities.

Palestine activist implies another Holocaust is coming, spouts blood libel

Mamal Tamimi, a member of the Palestinian  Tamimi family renown for their anti -Israel protests is shown to use social media to express highly inflammatory  anti-semitic messages and images in an article from Israellycool dated 16th September 2016.

“Much has already been written about her support for terror against Israel. But what is perhaps less known is that she is an out-and-out Jew hater”, states Aussie Dave.

His article contains examples of Mamal Tamimi’s postings which demonise Israelis, are wholly offensive against Jews in the context of the Holocaust,  describing Zionists as “zionazis”; contains highly defamatory age-old anti-semitic prejudices  including blood libel and child killings. She is also shown to express denial of Jewish identity against Ashkenazi Jews; and espouses false claims which deny Jewish heritage to Israel and specifically to Temple Mount, and advocates killing Zionists.

One image she shared of the Grand Mufti and Hitler said, regarding the former’s support for the Holocaust, that Netanyahu should “b carful”, implying that another Holocaust is going to happen. She also shared an image which claimed that the “real Holocaust” was happening in Palestine; such a claim borders on Holocaust denial, as the sheer difference in deaths in the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Holocaust, and the fact that the Arab-Israeli conflict has been an armed conflict in which Israel has frequently been called upon to defend itself means that no meaningful comparison can be drawn between them.

Another image she shared was a cartoon of a Nazi beating a creature with a whip. The creature was depicted wearing a kippah, with peyot and with stereotypical “Jewish” features.

She has also shared an image purporting to show a quote from Menechem Begin in which he describes the Jews as the “master race”. Claims that Jews believe they are superior to other have been a common theme in antisemitism throughout the ages, yet are used almost entirely to incite hatred against Jewish people and their beliefs.

One picture she shared shows Haredi Jews searching through large dustbins. She captions it “Zionists searching for their history in Palestine”, clearly showing that when she speaks of “Zionists”, she is really just speaking about Jews.

She has written of “vampire Zionists…drinking Palestinian bloods” – a shameless rehashing of age-old blood libel.

Aussie Dave reports that the Tamimi family include teenager Shirley Temper , whose real name is Ahed Tamimi , renown for her anti-Israeli online videos. He claims that Mamal Tamimi is also involved in the Tamimi Press, which he describes as an anti-Israeli propaganda outlet owned by Ahed Tamimi’s father Bassem Tamimi, and  supported by some sections of the mainstream media, and smaller media like AMZ Productions of Oregon. This content demonstrates how easily anti-Zionist rhetoric can feed into pure, unadulterated antisemitism.

Newsweek Middle East Editor’s antisemitic Twitter rant

An Editor of Newsweek Middle East has gone on an antisemitic rant on Twitter after her channel screened a documentary about the Israel-Palestine conflict littered with factual inaccuracies.

Leila Hatoum, the channels deputy senior editor, took to Twitter to dismiss those who had questioned the documentary, calling the critics “Zionist trolls”.

She also said that Jews are not semites, denying Jewish people their history and historical ties to both their own religion and their ancestral homeland. She references the Khazarian hypothesis, the discredited idea that Ashkenazi Jews (whom she falsely describes as the majority of the Israeli Jewry) have no ancient near eastern ancestry, writing “Something u should know, eastern-european are originally khazar tribes which converted to judaism. They do NOT have an israelite blood” and “Most jews in israel are not semits. They are descendants of europe’s khazar tribes, mixed hybrids, Ary etc. Whose ancestors adopted Judaism”.

Holocaust denial and antisemitism in Palestinian and Egyptian news sites

El Badil,  an Egyptian news site published a series of anti-semitic and Holocaust denial articles that were  republished by Palestenian TV Network Wattan News, reports the online American Jewish newspaper The Algemeiner on 22nd August, 2016.  The Algemeiner claims that the articles appeared in four parts: part one denies Jews exist as a people stating that Ashkanazi Jews are Khazars; part two states Jews use the ‘myth of the chosen people to manipulate the world to do their bidding’; part three denies Israel as the promised land and claims Jews have no historical ties to the region, essentially depriving Jews of part of their history; part four cites ‘renowned’ Holocaust deniers including Fred Leuchter, David Irving, and Ernst Zundel as ‘experts’, using their work as ‘evidence’ to deny the Holocaust , the use the of gas chambers and that claim there were only three million Jews in Europe before World War Two, thereby denying the count that six million Jews died during the conflict.

The articles were all titled “Zionist lies”

” Denial that Jewish people exist and that Jews were slaughtered by the Nazis are framed as if they are merely anti-Zionist positions”, the report claims. Adding further that Arab media are complaining about Arab refugees being shown death camps as history lessons and reprimanded if observed comparing Israeli activities to Nazi actions.

The use of the ‘Kharazian hypothesis’ is both scientifically flawed, as there is no evidence for it in genetic studies, and is a common thread within antisemitic discourse. Similarly, the

Daily Mail calls Temple Mount “Islamic Holy Site”, smears Jewish worshippers

Agence France Press has produced an article on an incident at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem which was published by the Daily Mail with the headline “Jordan slams Israel after radical Jews visit Islamic Holy Site”.

The Temple Mount is a sacred site for Jews, Christians and Muslims, but it is the holiest site in the world for Jews, and at the centre of much Jewish liturgy. Whilst it is the third holiest site in Islam, to describe it as an “Islamic Holy Site” which has somehow been intruded upon by Jews is to erase Jewish connections to the Temple Mount.

Moreover, to call Jews who wish to visit the Temple Mount on Tisha B’Av, a day of mourning for the destruction of the First and Second Temples, “radical Jews” is simply untrue.

Whilst the Daily Mail does acknowledge later in the article that the Temple Mount is Judaism’s holiest site, it does not challenge the idea that Jews who wish to visit it are “extremists”

Jordan’s Minister of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf (religious property) Wael Arabiyat described allowing Jews to visit their holiest site as “tyranny” and ominously said that it could provoke a religious war.

The current ‘status quo’ arrangement is that only Muslims are allowed to pray on the Temple Mount. Jews who pray or show signs of being emotional on the Temple Mount are often arrested by Jordanian religious police.

UK Media Watch has challenged the Daily Mail over the headline, which remains as of yet unchanged.

Egyptian media: Saudis are “Talmudic secret agents”

The blog Elder of Ziyon has reported that El-Shamal News, a prominent Egyptian media outlet, has published a bizarre antisemitic conspiracy theory that describes the Saudi royal family as “Talmudic secret agents”.

El-Shamal write:

“Global Talmudic Zionism has succeeded in planting a Talmudic Zionist gang who are staunch enemies of Islam and Muslims in the very land of Muhammad, since the 284-year-old when Zionism succeeded and convinced Britain to install the Mordechai family whose lineage started with the Jews of Khaybar to take the name of the Al-Saud and (Britain) enabled them and international Zionism to British colonial occupation of the Hijaz led by the name of Muhammad ibn Saud and Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab who have committed the most heinous crimes against the people of Hijaz and the people of Iraq…
The Talmudic family killed more than 10 million Muslims because of the Talmudic motto that everyone who kills a lot of non-Jews will enter Paradise, and 10 million dead Muslims would ensure the highest levels of Paradise.”

The article accuses “Talmudic Jews” of using stolen money “to finance all Western colonial wars of Zionism” and claims that they kill those “hostile to Jews and their associates”. This is claimed despite the fact that it is against Saudi law to carry out any Jewish services. Jews are rarely allowed to even enter the country and people wishing to enter the country must sign a statement confirming they are not Jewish.

The article goes on to claim that the Shah of Iran and Saddam Hussein were also “Talmudic” Jews, whilst praising Hezbollah and the current Iranian regime. EoZ takes this to suggest that the writer is likely affiliated with the Iranian regime in some way.

Whilst attempting to place blame on Jews for events or political figures that one dislikes is blatantly antisemitic, both in appealing to the idea of a Jewish conspiracy and in using Jews as a scapegoat, the ADL has also produced a report exploring how references to the Talmud have frequently been used in antisemitic material.

Lionel Messi accused of being Jewish in Egyptian TV farce

Lionel Messi, a professional footballer from Argentina who plays forward for Football Club Barcelona and the national Argentine team, was recently accused by member of the Egyptian parliament, Said Hasasin, of “humiliating…all Egyptians.”

During an on-air interview with talk show host, Mona El-Sharkawy of Yes I am Famous, broadcast on the MBC Masr channel, Messi offered his football boots to be auctioned for charity.

A shoe may be construed as disrespectful in Arab culture, especially when thrown or shown the sole. Upon witnessing Messi’s donation, MP Hasasin responded on his own talk show, “Whose shoes do you want to sell, Messi? How much do you think it will get? You don’t know that the nail of a baby Egyptian is worth more than your shoes? Keep your shoes to yourself or sell them to Israel.”

Egyptian Football Association spokesman, Azmi Mogahed, phoned into Hasasin’s show to add, “I know he’s Jewish, he donates to Israel and visited the Wailing Wall…we don’t need his shoes and Egypt’s poor don’t need help from someone with Jewish or Zionist citizenship.”

Ahmed Abdelhamid, better known as Mido, former footballer and current Egyptian football manager of Zamalek, tweeted, “The most precious thing the writer owns is his pen… and the most precious thing the footballer owns is his shoes. I hope we can stop the false accusations.”

Messi is the only football player to have won the European Golden Shoe three times, amongst many other titles. This honour is awarded each season to the leading scorer in matches from the top division of every European national league.

Messi visited the Western Wall with his team, FC Barcelona, as a stop on their peace tour in Israel in 2013. The following year, Messi participated in an all-star match organised by Pope Francis in Rome’s Olympic Stadium to support coexistence amongst people of different religions and support children’s charities. Mohamed Aboutrika, former Egyptian footballer, rejected the Pope’s invitation, citing “Zionist” participation in reference to Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun, alongside whom Aboutrika refused to play.

Messi’s philanthropic endeavours include his position as Ambassador for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) since 2010, when he traveled to Haiti to raise awareness of the effects of the earthquake’s impact on children there. As an active participant in UNICEF’s campaigns, he works to increase child HIV prevention, improve education access, promote disabilities inclusion, and mitigate mortality of disadvantaged youth. The football star founded his own organisation, as well. The Leo Messi Foundation supports access to health care, education and sport, such as youth football in Argentina, amongst other projects.

Hamas music video calls for bus bombings to “roast” Jewish flesh

A new video released by Hamas urges Palestinians to “blow the roof off of the bus” and chants in the chorus “Gird yourself, oh most honourable of men, with an explosive belt, because nothing will satisfy the intifada except blowing up buses.” The video shows actors dressed as orthodox Jews waiting for a bus, then shows the bombed out remains of a bus with men dancing in front of it.

Antisemitism flares in race to become next FIFA President

The race to become the next FIFA president has erupted in antisemitic smears from a senior figure of Bahrain’s football association.

Multiple tweets by Muhammad Mdwb, the media officer for Bahrain’s national team, claimed a UK-based PR group chosen to represent Prince Ali of Jordan, is run by an Israeli. Prince Ali of Jordan is a viable contender to replace Sepp Blatter as FIFA’s president.

Mdwb tweeted an image of Simon Cohen together with Prince Ali, claiming Cohen was born in Tel Aviv, despite the fact that he was born in Wales. Another tweet from Mdwb supposedly showed Simon Cohen playing football for Israel in the 1960s, mistaking Cohen for another man of the same name.

Prince Ali’s rivals include Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, former president of the Bahrain FA and current President of the Asian Football Confederation.

“It is racism and antisemitism and has no place in football,” Cohen responded. “I am also very upset at being mistaken for a 73-year-old retired footballer.”

Palestinian writer claims Israel buys ISIS slaves and converts them to Judaism

A Gaza-based journalist has accused Israel of buying slave-girls from ISIS and converting them to Judaism, as well as exploiting terrorist incidents and natural disasters, during an antisemitic rant on Turkish television.

Tawfiq Abu Shomar made the accusations on 15th January in an appearance on the TRT Arabic channel, claiming that Israel does so in order to strengthen its Jewish population.

He said: “For a long time Israel has been striving to bring over the Jews, especially from Europe. They especially want the Jews of France, because they consitute the largest comunity, numbering half a million. My warning should be viewed in context. Israel attracts the (Jewish) immigrants, that’s true, but it also takes advantage of the circumstances in order to bring them.

“This is the main point. It uses natural circumstances, even earthquakes. During the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Israel brought over a large number of Haitians, and had them converted to Judaism. Many such children live (in Israel).

“Israel has benefited not only from France, but also from Iraq. It has brought over Yazidis. A large number of Yazidis are now being converted to Judaism and absorbed there. In addition to the ruling Jewish authorities, there are organisations abroad that buy slavegirls on the ISIS market and take them to Israel.”

Abu Shomar is described as a writer and political analyst, and is head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society’s cultural department.

Abu Qatada discusses Holocaust and Protocols in antisemitic YouTube broadcast

Notorious Jordanian cleric Abu Qatada has denied the Holocaust, praised the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and spread the blood libel in a video on his YouTube channel.

The Salafi Islamist preacher, who formerly lived in the UK and was imprisoned and then deported to Jordan after being suspected of links to terrorism, discussed the issues last month in the 24th instalment of a series titled “1000 Books Before Death”.

While discussing the Protocols, he began to claim that Jews use gentile blood in matzos, saying: “There are two [issues] that are, in fact, one and the same. The first issue is the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and the second is the Jewish matzos. They both constitute the first issue.

“The second issue is the Holocaust. … In the first three years when we were jailed together with common criminals, they would tell us to come out of our cells. Where are we going? To a big get-together to commemorate the Holocaust… Britain in its entirety commemorates the Holocaust, even the prisoners. The Holocaust is their claim that Hitler killed six million in the gas chambers. This is a worthless lie, of course. Even the burning of Jews did not happen. They would burn the dead. When someone in the Jewish camps died, where could they bury him? They would throw him into the oven. That’s all there was to it. They claimed that six million Jews were killed in the fighting. The number of Jews in Europe before the war was six million. It is a lie, which they blew out of proportion in order to benefit from it.

“A Jewish journalist wrote a book titled The Holocaust Industry. The Jews peddle this. It is an industry. They fabricated it and used it to drain the world.”

Abu Qatada then returned to the programme’s ostensible topic, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

“If anyone talks about The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, they turn him into a laughing stock,” he said. “He is regarded as a lunatic who does not belong to humanity. Who can even mention The Protocols of the Elders of Zion? What is even stranger is [what happens] when someone talks of the matzos of Zion. Do you know about the Jewish matzos, which are eaten on the Jewish holiday? Let me talk a little about the matzos before moving to the Protocols, their history, and the attempts to deny them … there is a text in the Talmud… It says that the matzos eaten by the Jews on their holiday must be consecrated with the blood of a man from among the Gentiles. Usually they take a Christian because they cannot overpower a Muslim. This actually happened, yet they treat it as a mockery. … If you say this in the West they mock you. ‘Who would eat blood?’ they say. But this is the truth.”

He went on to repeat conspiracy theories about Jewish financial and geopolitical influence, stating: “The Jews control the world and that is a fact. The Jews run the global economy, that is a fact. … The West hates the Jews for a reason. They view the Jews as bloodsuckers. They view them as usurers who suck the blood of the people.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader releases Holocaust denial video on Holocaust Memorial Day while President tours Paris and Rome

As Iranian President Hassan Rouhani toured Rome and Paris on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, entertained by heads of state, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, released a video attacking the very existence of the Holocaust. Kamenei has often denied that the Holocaust took place, or suggested that if it did take place its scale is exaggerated. Under his direction, Iran has industrialised Holocaust denial, inserting it into popular culture through every means possible, even holding international Holocaust denial cartoon competitions, the next of which will be held in June

The video is entitled “Are The Dark Ages Over?” and was posted on Khamenei’s website on 27th January, International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Against the backdrop of images of the Auschwitz death camp, antisemitic Holocaust denier David Irving and others, the English subtitles of the Farsi video state: “No one in European countries dares to speak about [the] Holocaust, while it is not clear whether the core of this matter is a reality or not. Even if it is a reality, it is not clear how it happened. Speaking about the Holocaust and expressing doubts about it is considered to be a great sin. If someone does this, they stop, arrest, imprison and sue him. This is while they claim to be supporters of freedom. This is the ignorance that exists in today’s world. We should be awake. You dear brothers, dear people of Iran, Muslims in the great Islamic ummah and officials in different countries, should know that we can stand up against the ignorance.”

The video also begins by suggesting that Israel is behind ISIS, which is a modern-day antisemitic conspiracy myth, saying: “Who assists the fake Zionist regime? Who supports them? Who clears the road for them? Who stands behind them? It is Western powers — headed by America — that are doing so. This is while they say in their slogans that they are opposed to terrorism and ISIS. They are lying. They say things which are not true. This is ignorance.”

Clinton e-mail release prompts journalist’s antisemitic rant on television

The release of a new batch of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails prompted an antisemitic diatribe by a journalist in New York on state-run Iranian television.

The e-mails from Clinton’s private server showed that the former US Secretary of State considered a secret plan hatched by the US ambassador to Israel, Thomas Pickering, to foment Palestinian unrest and goad Israeli leaders into making concessions to the Palestinians.

Pickering’s e-mail, from 18th December 2011, said the plan was a potential “game changer in the region” and that the United States should undertake the campaign to spark protests, led by female Palestinians, against Israel.

In response to the email’s release last week, David Christie claimed on Press TV that Israel lobbyists “already own every politician in the Congress” and “control the entire media apparatus in the Western world,” allowing them to influence American politicians into acting in Israel’s interests.

Christie said: “It’s not a surprise that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was desperately searching for some way, some strategy, to deal with the racist-supremacist, warmongering psychopaths running Israel.

“But the miscalculation here is that the Zionist regime, headed up by master political-criminal and sociopath lunatics like Netanyahu, loves an opportunity to create another bloodbath.

“This is because when Jews control the media, they control the perceptions of everything among couch-potatoes in the United States,” enticing American voters to “vote for the candidate that is most loyal, not to the United States, but to Israel.”

Palestinians routinely humiliated and put to death for selling land to Jews, according to report

An investigation by Israeli Channel 2 television has reported that it has discovered an activist who seeks out Palestinian Arabs who have sold land to Jews and arranges for them to be humiliated and executed by Palestinian police. The Palestinian Authority forbids the sale of land to Jews by law.

The investigation obtained a tape of far-left Israeli activist Ezra Nawi apparently bragging about how he reports Arabs who plan to sell land to Jews to the Palestinian Authority’s security forces, in the knowledge that they will be killed. “I hand them directly to the Palestinian security service,” Nawi says on the tape. When asked what happens once Palestinian Authority police arrests the sellers, Nawi says, “It catches them, kills them. First Zubur, then Gazanga.” According to the report, Zubur is an Arabic word used in Hebrew to describe humiliation and physical torment, and Gazanga is not a known word but implies death, in the context of the tape.

Senior Palestinian official continues attempt to revive mediaeval antisemitic blood libel

Top Palestinian official, Fatah Central Committee member Jamal Muhaisen, has become the latest Palestinian leader to repeat the modern version of the blood libel. Originating in England in the 1100s and spreading across Europe, the blood libel was the accusation that Jews kidnapped and murdered the Christian children to use their blood as part of their religious rituals. The Palestinian leadership has renovated this vile myth and now claims that Israeli Jews harvest the organs of dead Palestinians.

Speaking on official Palestinian television, Fatah Central Committee member Jamal Muhaisen said: “There are Israeli testimonies acknowledging that organs are being taken from the bodies of young Martyrs. While the body is with the Israelis, organs are taken according to Israel’s needs, and afterwards they hand over the body with conditions…including not allowing the body to be autopsied, in order to cover it up.”

Every part of the statement is false, other than that Israel really does hand over the bodies of Palestinians, despite the fact that they were usually killed whilst perpetrating a terrorist act against Israelis.

Palestinian official television broadcasts child saying “Treachery has been [Jews’] nature from the days of Moses”

On Christmas Eve, Palestinian official television broadcast a child warning that “Treachery has been their [Jews’] nature from the days of Moses until today.”

The full passage took the form of a warped antisemitic narrative of historical Jewish-Muslim relations:

“Today, children, I have come to tell you the story of my people, listen to it. We had land and a house, and we had a field, garden, and fireplace. In Jaffa we had a noble family with small children, and in Acre we had an oven and pottery. My people lived on the land from generations… I remember what my grandmother told me long ago: ‘Don’t forget these words, lock them in your heart and guard them: Palestine is Arab, its land is Arab, its language is Arabic, its identity is Arab’…This home was the home of our father, and the foreigners came to banish us. Long ago we were dear friends. Yona [the Jew] helped Fatima [the Arab] with the laundry and Fatima boiled milk for her, and lit the fire for her on the Sabbath. It does not surprise us [that they banished us]. Treachery has been their nature from the days of Moses until today. May Allah turn back every oppressor’s scheme. Say Amen with me.”

Palestinian girl on official television reads poem: “Our enemy, Zion, is Satan with a tail”

A young girl recited a poem on official Palestinian television that included the words “Our enemy, Zion, is Satan with a tail.” When she finished, the host of the Palestinian children’s program responded: “I really like this poem.”

Palestinian Media Watch has recently exposed four similar Palestinian broadcasts of children reciting this same poem with hate speech against Jews.

This latest broadcast came just two weeks after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Islam, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, preached in the Friday sermon that Israel is “Satan’s project,” and that Jews represent “evil.”

The full poem recited by the young girl describes what children have been taught by Arab leaders, but criticises them for not acting according to their own teachings. The poem opens with the line “When I was young I was taught,” and includes the words “our enemy, Zion, is Satan with a tail” as one of those teachings.

The full exchange between the presenter and the girl went as follows:

Palestinian television host: “What are you going to recite?”
Girl: “The poem ‘Visa’ [by Hesham El-Gakh]…
When I was young I was taught that Arabness is my honor…
and that our lands extend from one end to the other,
and that our wars were for the Al-Aqsa Mosque,
and that our enemy, Zion, is Satan with a tail
and that our nation’s armies are outstanding.”
Host: “Thank you very much. I really like this poem.”

Saudi TV interview begins: “The Jews are today’s plague, a malignant disease,” then just gets worse

A viciously antisemitic television interview in Saudi Arabia has been brought to light by MEMRI. The interview begins with anchor Majed Ababutin declaring: “The Jews are today’s plague, a malignant disease. Their history is black, and their stories are stained with bloodshed.”

The interview with Saudi cleric Sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid gets worse from there. Al-Munajid tells viewers: “The Jews are at the top of the list of enemies. The Jews of today are the same as the Jews of yesterday. This does not require any proof. Allah has shown us their traits, and the Prophet Muhammad has told us that our battle with them will continue until the end of time, when they will be led by the Antichrist…Treachery courses through the veins [of the Jews] like blood.”

Ababutin then asks: “Does hatred of the Jews constitute a form of worship in and of itself?” Al-Munajid responds: “The question is: Do they hate us? This is a nation that believes that anyone not of their religion is an impure pig. This appears word for word in their false Torah. The Jews have the right to rape non-Jewish women. It appears in their scriptures. They are arrogant people. They say: ‘We are the beloved sons of God.’ I don’t have anything personal against the Jews. Not at all. Our hatred of them stems from their having cursed Allah. They are polytheists. In their Talmud, they say that the rabbis are the masters of God, and that He must do as they say…They say that for three hours each morning, Allah plays with the king of the fish.”

Continuing his questioning, Ababutin asks: “Many Muslims were put to the test by having to live alongside the Jews, in the West or even in Palestine. To what extent is there coexistence with the Jews? What are the sharia rulings regarding coexistence with the Jews?” Al-Munajid answered: “First of all, we call them to join the belief in Allah. We call every infidel, no matter how much we despise him, to Allah. We would like him to follow the true guidance. Secondly, if there had been dhimma relations between us, and they paid the jizya poll tax and lived under the protection of the Muslims, it would have been impermissible for us to do them an injustice or harm them…The Jews were ostracised. In the Ukraine and some other countries, when they saw what the [Jews] had done, they took them and threw them over the border. They were ostracised. But now that the Islamic caliphate has grown weaker and disintegrated, the Basel Congress was convened, and they implemented the Protocols [of the Elders of Zion], and the Crusaders collaborated with them following Balfour…Their state was established, and we became victims.”

Iran offers $50,000 prize for ‘best’ cartoon mocking the Holocaust

A $50,000 prize will be offered to the creator of the ‘best’ cartoon mocking the Holocaust, in a competition organised by Tehran to be held next June.

Such competitions are not unusual in Iran; another was held earlier this year. Officials usually claim that the aim is to test the tolerance of the West for freedom of speech.

According to The Tower, “Iranian politicians who are often described as ‘moderates’ by the international media, including President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, have refused to condemn the Holocaust in a straightforward manner. In contrast, Iranian political and military leaders over the years have been very clear about their genocidal aims toward Israel.”

WH Smith removes Mein Kampf from branch in Jordan and promises franchise policy review in letter to CAA

Following the shocking revelation that a WH Smith branch was stocking Adolf Hitler’s antisemitic diatribe, Mein Kampf, on its “Bestselling Books” shelf, WH Smith’s CEO has written to Campaign Against Antisemitism promising swift action.

We were contacted by supporters who had read an article in The Jerusalem Post which showed photographs of an Arabic translation of Mein Kampf for sale at WH Smith at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan. That Mein Kampf is a bestseller in many Arab countries is a sad reminder of the deep-rooted antisemitism across the Middle East, but we were nonetheless shocked to find WH Smith apparently catering to demand.

We immediately contacted the retailer and received a swift and unequivocal apology from CEO Steve Clarke.

WH Smith’s branch in the airport is operated by a franchised affiliate, and WH Smith can take no punitive action against the staff involved. The book has however been removed from the shelves and WH Smith has confirmed that stocking Mein Kampf is already banned under the company’s ranging policy which franchisees must obey. The company’s international management team are now reviewing their franchise policies following the incident to ensure that they are sufficiently robust should this reoccur.

We regret that the person who decided to stock Mein Kampf will almost certainly go without sanction or education, but we accept that is not within WH Smith’s power. We welcome WH Smith’s speedy and appropriate response.

Israeli father Nir Katshal was playing a computer game with his children before bedtime when he found that another player has defaced the game with a swastika next to the word “Jew”.

Palestinian UNRWA teachers continue to post incitement to violence against Jews with impunity

UNRWA employees are continuing to post antisemitic images calling for Jews to be stabbed, despite having been reprimanded for doing so by the agency.

A new report from the Geneva-based UN Watch highlights ten recent Facebook and Twitter posts by UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) teachers celebrating the murder of Jews.

One from an UNRWA English teacher, and graduate of the agency’s ethics course, named Suad Khalil Remawi states that “the Zionists and the Jews are sons of monkeys and pigs”. Another teacher called Mazen Abo Hady posted a photo of a Palestinian ripping through an Israeli flag with a blood-soaked knife.

UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer said the report’s purpose was to urge UNRWA to dismiss employees who engage in such incitement, and show the agency’s largest donors – the United States and the European Union – where their annual $1 billion is going.

“UNRWA’s reported temporary suspensions of offenders are clearly not working,” said Neuer. “Giving a slap on the wrist sends the message that it’s business as usual. Instead, those who incite to racism or murder should be fired, under a zero tolerance policy.”

Monday’s was the latest in a series of UN Watch reports on the matter, previous ones having led the UNRWA to state it would “take appropriate action, including disciplinary action, where violations by UNRWA staff members are established”.

UN Watch submitted the report to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, UNRWA chief Pierre Krähenbühl, EU foreign affairs commissioner Federica Mogherini and US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power.

Neuer added: “UNRWA’s strategy of impunity, denial and deflection only enables more incitement and violence. It’s time to put an end to the pattern and practice of UNRWA school principals, teachers and staff members posting antisemitic and terror-inciting images, a recurring theme that suggests a pathology of racism and violence within UNRWA, one that must be rooted out — and not buried, as UNRWA spokesman Chris Gunness has attempted to do by calling for boycotts of newspapers or of NGOs that dare to report these incidents of hate.”

Hamas leader in Gaza repeats blood libel that Jews eat blood of non-Jewish children

Speaking on Hamas Al-Aqsa Television, Salah Al-Bardawil, a Hamas leader in Gaza, said that Jews had “ancient biblical beliefs, which instructed them to kill children and collect their blood, in order to knead it into the bread that is eaten on Passover.” He continued: “This is the killing of a Palestinian child in order to collect his blood and to knead it into the bread they eat.” The blood libel that Jews kidnap and murder non-Jewish children in order to use their blood for ritual purposes is a major theme in historic European persecution of Jews which is constantly repeated by Palestinian leaders as a means of incitement.

Official Palestinian line on Paris terrorist attacks: Israel was behind it

Using classic antisemitic conspiracy theories, the Palestinian Authority has blamed Israel for the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday. The official Palestinian Authority daily wrote:

The wise and correct thing is to look for who benefits. In short: They need to search the last place reached by the octopus arms of the Mossad… It is clear that its ‘Mossad’ will burn Beirut and Paris in order to achieve [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s goals. He, who challenged the master of the White House, hides in his soul enough evil to burn the world.

The official Facebook page of the Fatah party (the party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is about to enter the eleventh year of his four-year term) warned:

As a people who suffer daily aggressions by Israel we understand the suffering of the injured and the families of those who were killed in a cold blood…It is time to end the brutal Israeli occupation which breeds violence in the entire world.

These two extracts are only two of an avalanche of accusation from official Palestinian channels over the weekend.

Report reveals UNRWA employees’ incitement against Jews

A report into antisemitism among staff at the UN Relief and Works Agency has highlighted a series of disturbing recent posts on Facebook.

Hani Al Ramahi, who describes himself as a “Projects Support Assistant at UNRWA”, posted an image on October 8th in which a keffiyeh-clad man grasps a blood-covered knife bearing the Palestinian colours. The caption reads: “Stab Zionist dogs.”

Two days earlier on October 6th, fellow UNRWA employee Ibrahim Ali, who lives in Hebron, posted a series of videos on his timeline that glorify the shootings and stabbings of Israeli Jews.

Um Karam, who identifies himself as a teacher at UNRWA, posted the widely-distributed video of a sermon in which Sheikh Abu Rajab pulled out a knife and exhorted Palestinians to murder Jews in the name of Islam. And on October 4th an UNRWA employee named Saleh Mohsen celebrated the outbreak of such stabbing attacks against Israelis by calling for a “West Bank Intifada”.

These are only four of numerous similar cases highlighted by the report – for more details click here.

Yemen tells its remaining Jews to convert to Islam or flee

According to Israeli MK Ayoub Kara, the last remaining hundred or so Jews in Yemen have been ordered to convert to Islam or flee the country. Houthi rebels captured the capital last year and overthrew the government. The Houthi flag is made up of the words: “God is Great, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse the Zionists, Victory to Islam”. Israel is reportedly looking at ways to evacuate the remaining Jews in the country, having previously evacuated 49,000 Jews — almost all of the Jews in Yemen — in Operation Magic Carpet in 1949 and 1950.

Egyptian newspaper claims Jews capture, torture and murder non-Jewish children, then make pies with their blood

Egyptian newspaper Vetogate has published an article claiming that Jews practice strange and inhuman rituals, such as torturing and murdering non-Jewish children and using their blood to make pies:

“On the occasion of Purim, Jewish adult men slaughter a non-Jewish child under the age of seven, after torturing him and then completely emptying their blood in a suitable container, and then the blood is dried until it becomes a powder to bake a blood pie, which is a sacrifice for this holiday; in order to atone for sins. Despite the fact that the custom has been discontinued for the time being, but the Jews practiced it all over the world, and particularly in Russia during World War II, prompting ostracism and persecution in the communities in which they lived.”

The antisemitic “blood libel” has been used as a pretext to persecute Jews for centuries.
