Attempted antisemitic assault in Newcastle upon Tyne

So I just had a couple of unpleasant firsts.

I witnessed my first anti semitic ‘pro-Israel’ demonstration (by the top thinkers of EDL North East), because if Muslims are against it, they’re for it.

Then I was antisemitically abused and threatened with violence by said EDL Geniuses after we had a verbal altercation sparked by them islamophobically abusing me, as I walked past.

It should be noted that while there some somewhat iffy moments at the pro Gaza rally (I was there observing with a friend, from the river to the sea is not a good song to sing), when push came to shove, the muslims and non-muslims from that group came to help me and were very sympathetic afterwards, even though they initally thought I was just a random jewish bystander.

We live in strange times.
