Ill never forget working for a promotions company a couple years ago and overhearing them say “i hate jews”, in a large group of people also hired for that day. I turned around and said “excuse me? Im jewish.” He said “well Its just that they think they know everything. ” and tried to turn it into a bit of fond teasing, telling me his brother married a jew.

No one said anything, no one corrected him and told him thats racist. I have never heard anyone in front of me say “i hate christians” or muslims or whites or blacks or asians or whatever. But i know that in a world so into equal rights and political correctness that anyone who dared say something like that in front of people he barely knew would be immediately criticized.

But somehow everyone just laughed at “i hate jews” like it was something funny thats completely okay to say.
