Dutch Muslim accused of threatening to behead Jews in Ireland

A 39-year-old Dutch Muslim is facing trial in Cork, Ireland, for threatening to kill two French nationals as well as threatening to behead Jews.

Smael Heirouche is accused of saying to the two men that “Zionists should have their throats cut”, whilst calling them “Zionists” and making threatening gestures.

Mr Heirouche is also accused of saying that if he had a sword he would cut off the heads of Jews.

“He was quoting the Koran. They did not have the same belief. He did not take kindly to this. He made reference to recent terrorist attacks in France” said Detective Geraldine Daly. He apparently spoke approvingly of terrorist attacks against Jews in France.

Heirouche was was allegedly making the threats in the name of Islamic extremism, and brandished a Koran as he did so.

Heirouche was refused bail by the judge, due to the severity of the accusations, as well as having attempted to book flights abroad, presenting a risk that he would abscond.

UK Labour Party suspends member who said Holocaust is used as “financial racket”

The Labour Party has suspended a party member who called the Holocaust a “financial racket” and “a useful political tool”. John McAuliffe, a self-described “foreign affairs heavyweight” who is believed to be based in Dublin, was suspended after posting on his Facebook page: “The Holocaust has been the most useful political tool of the Zionist government in Israel to establish a financial racket in the West, whereby Israel receives an unlimited sum for the duration of its existence. The large level of poverty in Israel among Holocaust survivors shows they don’t care about the emotional impact they are trying to generate. It is about money and military technology. This further paints a clearer picture of the divide between Zionism and Judaism, and their incompatibility.”

Irish performer who smashed TV with axe as part of “Holocaust Hoax” act jailed for five months

An Irish judge has jailed a Holocaust denier for five months for using performance art in a public square in Ennis to further his claims that the Holocaust did not take place. Dermot Mulqueen, aged 49, was jailed at Ennis District Court, for the lunchtime performance to a crowd of teenagers on 23rd January 2015, when he put an axe through a TV as part of his “Liberation of the Mind” act with which he intended to launch “International Holocaust Hoax Day”. He was convicted of breaching Section 9 of the Offensive Weapons Act and section 6 of the Public Order Act.

Mulqueen told the court: “I wasn’t breaking the law, I was breaking a taboo. There was nothing threatening about what I did.” In his statement to police, Mulqueen had said: “I found out that the Holocaust was a hoax in August 2013 after coming across a video by David Cole on Auschwitz on YouTube. I am not a racist but I have found out that the Holocaust was a hoax and I wanted to highlight this.”

In sentencing, the Judge Patrick Duncan said Mulqueen “may have a view and an interpretation of history, but it is an historical fact that the Holocaust was the greatest crime perpetrated against a section of mankind in the history of mankind”. According to the judge, by his actions Mulqueen had “behaved in the most offensive way, not merely towards a particular section of society but towards society generally”.

After sentencing, Mr Mulqueen was released on bail pending his appeal.

Shatter said of the e-mails: “I got them because I am Jewish, no matter how much of a hard neck you have, persistence of that nature is upsetting and distressing…For any Jewish person to receive this is upsetting, when it’s persistent and ongoing you don’t know what the next step is going to be for this person.”

At the time of his arrest, Dillon claimed that he was exercising his right to free speech and that it was a “political matter” but he has since apologised for the messages, saying he sent them because he was “depressed”.
